  1. Yeah, my point was about the umps though. Same issue with him warning both teams handicapping the team that just got hit and then not tossing the pitcher after a second HBP.
  2. The whole playoffs are like a 1 game wild card really, anything can happen so of course you take it. Hard to find a team that would be the outright favourites to win in a 1 game matchup vs. us. Why do we even want to catch the Yankees? If we're not confident we can win 1 game, how are we gonna win it all when the rest of our rotation will be exposed? So many people don't want to go up against Dallas Keuchel. LMAO the Astros have to go up against Price AND the Jays offense. The Jays should rightfully GTFO if they still can't win.
  3. Yanks are due for some kind of losing streak. We play them a lot the rest of the way, so it's likely it will come against us.
  4. Not many prospects pan out period. Even fewer reach their ceiling. Almost none make it to be #1/2 starting pitchers. Even if you correctly predicted and retained all of these prospects there is no way they would all get the development time, encouragement, and opportunities to build their confidence and hone their skills to all be #1 material (look at the EDM Oilers...) Stroman only got his break after Morrow went down last year. Sanchez is locked up in the pen. Hutch is struggling. Norris would not get as good a look as he is going to get in Detroit for quite a while considering he was struggling at AAA. Alvarez got his opportunity being traded to the Marlins out of the playoff picture giving Alvarez plenty of low pressure time to develop and succeed. You get the idea...
  5. What about Halladay? Do you trade him rather than sign him if your team is hoping to contend for the next 3-5 years? Now switch back to Price without the option to trade him.
  6. Price & Stroman would be a treat to watch Given the fact we gave away Norris and Hoffman and we have money coming off the books to chase a FA pitcher, I don't see why we wouldn't atleast try at Price. He isn't rep'd by Boras, who knows it might not be so bad.
  7. So this isn't the first time the umps were complete morons issuing a warning followed by no ejection after a second HBP...and look who's involved! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XjldrPjJfI
  8. Sanchez WILL start next year or be traded.
  9. Really curious to see how we match up against the Yankees, biggest test of the season.
  10. You have no choice but to buy high on RP. Lowe will be fine. What I don't get is why the hell would you put in a guy after he was just acquired in a high leverage spot when we could have used Osuna. YES we could have used him, he doesn't pitch more than 1 inning it doesn't matter if he pitched in the previous 4 games. Easy to say in hindsight obviously, but when you look at Lowe, he's like a young prospect finally putting in a good season. Not the game to make him prove himself especially after a trade. Leaving him in there too was just so old school.
  11. I wanted the Jays to get scrappier at the bottom of their lineup and they have, I'm happy. People posting Revere's wRC are wrongly suggesting he doesn't fit that bottom of the order role, when he is the ideal pickup.
  12. There are many ways to build the farm as well, not just through the draft. AA got this.
  13. You can't worry about the future and want to win it all right now at the same time. Yet I still feel AA has taken care of both.
  14. So Ichiro was replacement level? Of course if you can get power with speed you do it, but unfortunately that doesn't exist - AA Hitting a lot of singles makes you a very good bottom of the order hitter. Why do we hate Carrera in the lineup? Cuz he doesn't hit a lot of homers? He hit one the other day, but generally he struggles to get on base. You are getting a guy that can get on base and steal bases. Who cares if he hits his way to second or steals second?
  15. He hits a lot of singles why would you look at wRC?
  16. I don't think they expected to be where they are in the standings right now. Too late to change their plans for this yr.
  17. This trade is frekin awesome. We got Revere and Travis for some pretty small pieces, I like these trades way more than the big ones.
  18. Wat? I can see why we would want cash, but wth from the Phillies perspective?
  19. Oh what the hell this is ridiculous
  20. What is the hold up with the names of guys going back?
  21. Well it's not like we need any help against LHP
  22. That is just crazy. I'd change that up a bit though. I'd go 1. Travis 2. Donaldson 3. Bautista 4. Tulowitzki 5. Encarnacion 6. Martin 7. Smoak 8. Pillar 9. Revere
  23. He might be a little better than Colabello
  24. Oh yeah, I thought I read you say Pompey is a half win upgrade over Revere
