  1. When Michael Saunders went down in ST (and even in the offseason), we had huge question marks in our outfield, especially LF and CF (we had Pompey back then too). Yet for some reason, after we make the playoffs, many people feel we can trade Revere, Pillar, and move Bautista to 1B.
  2. As bummed as I am to see AA leave, don't really see what he would have done in the years to come here in Toronto. Roster is in a good place for next season and beyond, no prospects to trade, and most of the work for next season needs to be done in FA to acquire pitching: something he doesn't like doing anyway.
  3. Sac bunts make a lot of sense when you expect it out of essentially the Pitcher spot. No one is expecting JD to bunt. With Goins up 1st and 2nd none out, most of the time he grounds out (into a DP) or strikes out. Bunting was absolutely the right call. He should absolutely feel the need to become a better bunter. NL pitchers work pretty hard at it, he has no excuses.
  4. Works well in the regular season
  5. I said this all season long, only to be ridiculed. You cannot argue it showed bigtime with guys on base and none out. There is no excuse for Goins and Revere not being able to competently bunt. Pompey, who has been lethal on the bases, got himself to third with none out and didn't come home. They didn't even try to steal 2B (1st and 3rd no one out) so Pompey could have attempted to come home on the throw over. KC came ready to play, their experience showed. Hindsight is always 20/20, hope we learn and come back stronger next year like KC did.
  6. If you watched any highlight pack of the BlueJays Royals series you would know not to throw Escobar a 1st pitch strike.
  7. Thanks for the great year Jays! Mets in 5
  8. Also as a pitching coach, shouldn't your one and only job be to understand what your pitcher is going through? After that bloop/error Pete Walker should have gone out and settled things down. So frustrating sometimes.
  9. Yeah that and the fact that the ump was squeezing him hard so he did not have the outsides of the plate. Fatal combo. Hitter knows what's coming and where it's coming = 5 straight hits against a guy that was one-hitting you through 6. All this BS about Price choking is serious junk. Having said that, it could have easily been avoided if the Jays could execute with RISP. Didn't need Hr's, Doubles, or Singles couple of Sac-fly's/bunts would have done it.
  10. Between the popup and the DP thats 3 outs Goins cost us
  11. No it was off on a pitch Ventura threw as well, I thought it was nasty right on the corner, pitch tracker had it a foot off the plate
  12. Pillar just missed driving that to the outfield, had the right idea
  13. Ventura getting exposed without the shadows
  14. They're the FOX guys and there's only one Canadian team, this is new for them.
