  1. Tell me who would you rather have? Stick with what we have? Then fair enough I'm all for it but I'm not keen on making a move for 2nd baseman via trade. To be fair I don't too much on Berti to completely understand what he can do for the team this year...I love having a solid SB threat in the lineup but outstand of that I don't know what else he brings ( again lack of knowledge on the player )
  2. The Halladay trade was a bit different aging SP getting his last chance
  3. Which is my point. If they succeed there doesn't mean they would have here.
  4. Won't be cheaper and Melky is the better fit over Cruz anyway. Rasmus is a decent option but doesn't fix the issue just gives more options
  5. . Thank you as I said Sign Kawa he can help at SS and 2ND has a good bat and is an awesome presence in the dugout. Sign as a bench player / role player. Upgrade LF and RP
  6. Topics here derail fast... Oakland has proven to be a leader at developing prospects and getting the most out of their players, if Nolan etc are successful you can't just say " We gave too much " or " Too bad we still didn't have X player " The organization IMO are typically majority responsible for the success of the " depth / struggling " players
  7. Bring back Kawasaki and I'm serious. Our issues are LF, 2ND, RP and a bit of SP. Our rotation has depth and might be able to hold things together I'd like to see Shields but I doubt it. If we can resolve 2 out of 3 ( LF, 2ND, AND RP ) I will be happy. I prefer LF, and RP. At the same time keeping mind our bench and making upgrades there. Our lineup is looking great to have a few question marks is normal. I would roll with a platoon at 2nd that specializes in defense and upgrade LF and RP. AA is going to make a few more moves that's for sure.
  8. That's just funny
  9. Lets go Falcons! Great game happening Packers and Pats ( Packers for the win )
  10. I wouldn't disagree with Happ in the rotation on opening day is better for the Jays then Sanchez. I like Happ he does his job well, but like I said I hope to see Sanchez get his chance at the rotation if injuries, lack of production occurs early.
  11. I'd like to see Sanchez get a shot at the rotation and see what he can do but I don't agree with the dislike for Happ he has done his job in the rotation
  12. I play draftkings...is this better? I have a friend who won just over $1200 in baseball for $ 2 dollars...Personally I put in $50 and my current bank is $86.25
  13. I'm curious and worried how the raptors are going to respond....DD is a threat double teamed and constantly causing fouls.
  14. This ^ I have nothing to add, you have explained my confusion perfectly. The A's have a proven track record regarding trades but I don't understand their path lately. Butler 3 yr / 30 million..5 million signing bonus? Off-season is still young...
  15. I think best player in baseball was a typo on your part... Personally I do believe this had some impact on the move, how much? who knows. Time will tell and if it helps in the future Reddick has also voiced his opinion on the move...But Reddick doesn't have much value IMO
  16. I don't know enough about Donaldson to even try to speculate how he will handle arbitration or the Toronto media however he is coming here with a proven track record with a chip on his shoulder!
  17. I agree with you but every team/owner is different. He may have been more open to the idea after the twitter posts then before... Regardless I found it interesting.
  18. Did you read the article? Donaldson sends out a message basically saying no matter what happens all always love Oakland through good or bad...which is less then 2 weeks ago. I'm not stating they decided the heck with Donaldson he WILL be moved but rather to entertain offers.
  19. I was checking out the Oakland forum to see their reaction...Majority upset and are not surprised as everyone knows this is the Oakland way...but one topic talked about the A's moved Donaldson based off his comments via twitter link http://www.athleticsnation.com/2014/11/19/7245441/amid-free-agent-flurry-donaldson-spends-tuesday-dishing-on-twitter I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case to be honest, I remember hearing on the radio the A's weren't shopping Donaldson but the Jays blew them away from the offer. I truly believe this trade will be in the Jays favour but not highway robbery...or enough to blow them away... Thoughts?
  20. Perfects posts regarding how to obtain a top SP and Dickey. Hamels is great but how can we land him? not easily. The Jays have the money for a Shields PLUS Melky and RP let's not kid ourselves but will they spend more? I'm not sure. I like Dickey and have no problems with him, he stays unless the offer is overpayment.
  21. I don't see why any Jays fan wouldn't like this trade even if you are a fan of Lawrie like majority of the fan base including myself. Donaldson will come to Toronto and should pay off huge. Hitting in the dome with his style and the lineup protection is going to be lethal. Lawrie has some of the tools to be a great player but the problem is most of the tools he's lacking cannot be taught personality, patience etc. He has a long road ahead now and I hope the best for him as he was always fun to watch. I personally believe Lawrie will be successful in Oakland but won't be great. Nolin, and Graveman are depth pitchers. There will be more depth pitchers in the future, is it possible they will also succeed with Oakland? Of course they have a proven track record with developing young players and bringing the most out of their players. Barreto is looking promising but is still very young and time will tell. Jays are going for it now! That's what we all want isn't it? Playoffs! NOW
  22. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. The question is for what?
  23. I wouldn't be shopping or looking to move Reyes at all that being said if something came to me like a Hamels I would. Reyes is a good fit on this ball club but as everyone knows the problem is staying on the field.
