  1. lmao its true nothing about him stands out, his power was zapped last year but we have plenty already, good defence, good speed, great OBP, very few Ks, hits lefties better then righties so no platoon issue, pillar can back up him and pompey aoki probably gets 2/16, markakis get 3/30 and melky 3/45 i would do any of the 3, our for sure contending window is next two years, barring injury both players would still be serviceable and tradeable come the 3rd year
  2. I wish we would have kept lind and platooned him with valencia, goins is a blackhole in the lineup but yes solid defence i hope we can snag drew for cheap, maybe a full spring and season helps him rebound, use him till the all star break and bring up travis, trade him to another team needing a SS or 2B, not sure how his defence at SS rates but I'm sure he would be an adequate addition at 2B for a reasonable price, not sure if mean old scott boras and AA/beast can get along
  3. no way AA goes for it, saunders has good potential but isn't a sure thing either id rather go after aoki or markakis who only cost money, no draft pick/prospect/mlb piece play better defence and base running then melky for sure, high OBP guys to hit #2 in front of JB/EE
  4. id hope not, safer bet is go after saunders who fills LF for next year and get another guy to bridge the gap for Travis
  5. i take them both in a heartbeat, but it would take probably norris and another piece to acquire them both
  6. we can always trade for a top tier pitcher come the deadline when were either in the front of the pack or legit contending
  7. and if we win a world series in 2015 or 2016 nobody will give a f*** about payroll for 2017
  8. Buehrle, Dickey, Stro, Hutch and Happ with Sanchez and Norris waiting in the wings is a good rotation, better then the Orioles/Royals and as good as the Angels all of whom made the postseason All these guys can throw under 4.00 ERAs minus Happ who will probably be on his way out, hopefully Buehrle repeats as he use to be considered an ACE to lead the way and maybe worth a qualifying offer come next offseason, not every ACE has to throw 95 For what we would pay one of these starting pitchers who play in 1/5 of the games we could pay a good starting LF(hunter/markakis), a decent 2B (weeks/drew) to bridge gap for Travis and also snag a reliever to fill out the pen while still having Navarro to trade away for another
  9. need to save some cash for the pen so melky is out and i want the pick back sign one of aoki, ichiro, markakis or hunter for LF sign a reliever, trade navarro for another reliever sign one of weeks or drew if available late in offseason to bridge gap for travis, or start travis as he could be an Altuve type player, Altuve has also never played a game in AAA
  10. i would sign lester and trade burhele for a reliever, lester/martin signed long with young arms filling in the rest from 2016 on
  11. Hunter, Aoki, Markakis are all good options, upgrade on defence from melky for sure. Aoki and Markakis are good #2 hitters, don't k much, take walks, decent speed, hunter would be more of a 5-7 hitter i also like ichiro as a last option, him and pillar in LF would be better then pillar/dirks
  12. im also looking forward to what smoak can bring to the table, his numbers vs lefties and righties are the same but his home numbers at Safeco are horrible, hopefully a hitter park and a deep lineup can make him our next undervalued masher EE/JB he isn't a gold glover defender but should split time with EE at 1st and DH, maybe have Valencia DH vs some lefties. not sure why some people don't have Valencia in the plans next year, lefty masher and will replace Lawrie for at least 1 DL stint next year
