  1. It’s not like he has ever even played a ton of cf really. Games played in cf 2022-2017 86 40 42-short season 75 80 84 So it’s not like he is gonna go 160g to none. Prob more like 85 to 100 down to potentially 0 barring injuries. I really don’t think it’s that big of a deal for his offensive production but it should help On D. Love teo, but he should have been used as EE 2.0 as much as possible
  2. Best breakdown I have seen. I always forget about the AAV affecting cba, not that current year salary so back loading a contract doesn’t help to say under the “cap”. Plenty of room to play with still. I wouldn’t be against trading guierriel at this point either.
  3. Yup, which will set the team up very well for the future in regard to holes to fill. Notable help from the farm should start in 2024 season imo. They just need time. One of the 2 additions would be a lefty sp you would think with berrios manoah and gaus as rhp. As well as a LH OF
  4. 3rd best sp prospect in our system now prob behind Rickey and last years top pick
  5. I like the deal assuming no money is going with teo.
  6. But spanky said jays don’t want to get prospects in trades. They want “immediate help! Now!”
  7. K….
  8. Injuries take care of these things typically. No harm in barger being in aaa until the all star break as worst case scenario.
  9. “Why the f*** would the cubs want a catcher? Jim is dum” -spanky last week
  10. Espinal needs to start vs lhp. Prob right about whit getting majority of ab to start season at 2nd. Last year to evaluate Whit and biggio to see how to proceed
  11. I think he swayed me
  12. I tracked the top 30 or so players that I think Jays could be in on and both projections are very close to one another
  13. Piggyback him and white every 5 days as 5th starter. Looks like an outfielder in the move so my off-season prediction looks like- -trade LGJ for a reliever -trade Jansen for a SP -sign Nimmo or another OF.
  14. I still wanna see barger in aaa. Otto is prob nothing special but we’ll see
  15. I’d hold all 3 2bman. I’m fine with a biggio/espinal platoon and merrifield is gone after this year. I’m ready to give biggio another season to see what he is, especially without the shift next season. Not to mention injuries will occur and none of the 3 has big trade value. Espinal is a great back up ss and rips lefties. I’d think he could handle LF vs LHP and joc Peterson vs RHP
  16. Agree to disagree . Sack up man? Grow the f*** up
  17. I don’t think that’s a catch all. I’m MUCH more comfortable extending manoah than vlad given variance in performance. After last month of 2022 and vlads answer to question about it (launch angle) where he said he’s not concerned. Long season. Performance goes up and down… I was ready to sell. Those ab were absolutely brutal and predictable
  18. Are those numbers (extension) starting now or after 2024? Figure 4m in 2023 and maybe 8ish in 2024 as is now? I think he’d want bought out at 12AAV For 2005-2007, no? So I’d think a deal of 5/50 for 2003-2007 would make sense to both sides.
  19. Going off this list: Originally Posted by Jimcanuck View Post Would have to be a contender / near contender with a C need. 20. Cubs have their top 3 prospects per mlb.com as OF with values approaching Jansen (27). (26.5, 25, 19) all with 55 FV. For fun throw Simeon woods Richardson back in (5).
