  1. Except the Cardinals, who I think must have signed a deal with Satan at some point.
  2. I would like him out of the rotation very much. Hutch plus an Alford for a Fiers or something would be nice. Someone more consistent.
  3. Yeah, no kidding. I read somewhere that only 20% of bluechip prospects really flourish. Plus, AA seems to have a knack for re-building barren farm systems. Lastly, if the Jays start to win and start packing the park, Rogers will certainly be a little more flush with cash and let the FO start to sign some big names who want the moon. Lastly Lastly, if we do make the playoffs, there's f***ing that.
  4. Except maybe a high from making the playoffs maybe.
  5. And kudos to Dombrowski, who also seems to be a guy who shows discretion.
  6. He's never said he was a #1. Even just after we acquired him. IIRC.
  7. I hope so, Hutchinson and Alford for a solid pitcher who has some years of control.
  8. Unless you have a time machine why would you even f***ing post this?
  9. How long have players been able to once again get out of the batters box and adjust things? I thought that was a strike in spring training.
  10. Bats, IMO, is a very smart guy and a great communicator. He's one guy who, when's he's done playing, would make a good coach.
  11. What would it take to pick up James Shields? What is the Jays decided to take on the full contract...we wouldn't have to ship many prospects would we? Sanchez and Boyd? We can demote Doubront then...
  12. Reyes was making an error a game, and he was just going to get worse. To get rid of him helps a ton. And we get the best SS in baseball back. For prospects. It hurts, but we are better for shizzle.
  13. To me Hutch is expendable. I'd trade him for almost any mid-tier starter. Estrada can also be a trade chip, since he's a FA after this season.
  14. With Tulo, I don't see why Pompey couldn't be called up. We don't need a lot of offence out in LF. With Tulo and Pompey out there, man our defence looks a lot better. Cola demoted, Smoak FT 1B, and EE fulltime DH. That defence is really solid, man.
  15. Would Hutchinson, Norris+ be close to Carrasco?
  16. I thought EE's option was $16M. At $10M, hell yeah. But, OTOH, more trade value....
  17. Those trades help us a ton going forward. I'd be all over that if possible. For this year, it would allow Smoak to play 1B full time and Colla to DH fulltime. That'd be okay. And Goins could play SS full time. It would help our defence a ton, and bring our pitchers' ERA down a bit. Plus build for the future.
  18. Looking ahead to 2016... Do you think there is any chance we retain MB? Do you think he retires? Is giving him a qualifying offer a crazy idea, given how he continues to pitch so effectively? Dickey was awful in April and May, but he's looking solid now, even with Martin as his catcher. Do we exercise his option, ~ $16M, for 2016? Do you think Osuna, Sanchez and/or Norris have chances to be in the rotation next year? I think Estrada will not be extended after this season. So he's a non-factor. Does AA take the team option on EE? I am 99% sure Bats gets his option exercised. Can we decline EE's option, but then give him a qualifying offer? Probably not. Do you think Stroman has avoided the sophomore jinx by being injured his second year in the MLB?
  19. That's what I sort of thought, but to see it in real numbers is a little shocking. The Jays are really never bad or good, but consistently define middling. No matter who's in charge. Depressing.
  20. With Pillar performing well, either could be a valid trade chip this season.
  21. Huh? I expected a strong bullpen, and another solid season from Gardner. I also figured A-Rod would be a bounce-back candidate. If I thought that, I am sure others did too. What I didn't expect was for Tanaka and Pineda to both be solid. f***.
  22. You're right. Rosenthal I am sure is right 95% of the time. If he says something is cooking, it is.
  23. I don't think Lawrie is too well liked here, but I am still a big fan and I hope he does well during his career. It seems unlikely, amidst all the rumours, but I would like the Jays to try and get him back in two years when he's a FA. I loved his interview btw.
