  1. James Shields has been placed on revocable waivers officially, as of this AM. What are the chances the Yanks grab him if the Jays let him go through? If the Jays grabbed him, would it be a straight grab or would the Padres hold out for a trade? If so, could we trade another prospect, maybe an OF, and have the Padres eat some of his salary?
  2. That lineup is ridiculous. And who knows if there isn't another upgrade made.
  3. Is there any way in hell this guy would forego retirement for another 1-2 years with the Jays? He just seems like such a solid addition to the back/mid end.
  4. I kind of wish they put Donaldson in to pitch against Hosmer or something, just to have the Royals bench get all upset.
  5. I think Dombroski is actually stronger than Duquette, who I also like but not as much. Some of the expensive contracts DD has handed out (eg. Fielder) were mostly because Ilitich was sort of forcing him to do it. Plus, he was able to get rid of that contract. He's a ninja like AA. And I know AA has a ton of respect for DD. AA & DD, sound awesome.
  6. So, just to sum things up. Their pitchers throw at our guys four times, hitting our players twice, three of those times after a "warning" was delivered to both teams. Sanchez almost hits a Royal once, actually *was* tossed out. And now he is suspended. Holy f***ing s***. f*** I am angry.
  7. I guess my point is the Dodgers and Nats have Kershaw and Scherzer for that huge money, sure, but I am assuming that might take them out of the running in signing Price to a similar deal. Maybe not, but probably. So what clubs have s*** tons of money left for a premium starter like Price? Yankees? No, I think Hal S is frugal and they still wear some albatross expensive deals they would like to shed to get under that luxury tax. Angels? Same thing as the Yanks. In sum, I think we might be one of the few large market teams that can back the truck up and spend on him, especially if this season goes the way it may if we have a great August/September.
  8. So you're looking at 2015's production so far from those 4 and extrapolating. You're like Einstein.
  9. Oh definitely. I would almost skip away starts for Hutch. Dickey has been bullets and he pitched extremely well on 3-days rest his last start. He has found his premium knuckleball I think. He threw an amazing knuckler as 80 mph near the end of his last start for the strikeout.
  10. Depending on his record with 3 days rest, they may rush him up a day if it's a good Yankees matchup to take advantage. I'd consider doing that twice down the stretch.
  11. IMO this guy is a top three starting pitcher in baseball. Maybe he loves it here. Maybe we do well this year. I've read we have no chance to sign him after this year? Why, how many club can afford his contract? 4? I think we're one of the clubs that can. Would 6-years, $180M get him? Is that even close?
  12. I just don't see any reason for the move, and I know most of you know more than me so I just wanted a reason or two. I didn't want to stir up s***.
  13. I think he's a pretty solid pitcher when healthy. I'd take him, healthy, over three people in our rotation right now.
  14. First day on the forum in a bit, can someone explain why the FO DFAed Valencia instead of Colla? I do not get this at all for so many reasons. Please explain this confusing move to me... Also, I would have optioned Loup as the other move. He's garbage right now.

  16. I get leading Tulo off in the order for the simple reason he gets more at bats. But I wonder if it might not be a better idea to have Revere up there until Travis is healthy. At least against righties. Just a thought.
  17. Maybe to play infield.
  18. I advocate moving him to another team.
  19. Hutchinson is as reliable as ISIS. That's what the hell.
  20. Sanchez is sort of proven in the big leagues. Those other guys are just prospects and more apt to be busts than really good.
  21. True, but FA's like Snyder and Rasmus are a dime a dozen, and typically easy to sign. I've never been a Norris fan, but I think Castro could be something. I'll miss him. No one else makes me cry. I am almost relieved that Reyes is gone. I know he's a great guy, but his error-a-game antics (not reality, it's just how it seemed to me) was getting uber annoying.
  22. I didn't know much about him until recently, but through his interviews and his blog, he seems like an awesome guy.
  23. I agree. He's had like 6 great starts in a row. I am 95% sure they pick him up. He can at least be traded for something if they have no intention of playing him.
