  1. Lawrie's gotta kick the Redbull, he'll never have consistent energy levels taking that, which is going to throw off his timing.
  2. I imagine his #'s will be even higher than that when playing in at RC half the time, since you could say general his #'s outside of Coliseum are based on roughly average PF and RC is not average.
  3. Surprised more are not talking about how Lawrie was a very popular player here, seems he brought a lot more girls and hockey fans to the stadium (not real baseball fans but nevertheless paid attendance). AA has balls of steal.
  4. Funny because he was being sarcastic, the guy just f***ing JINXED US JOSH DONALDSON
  5. If we want to look at it solely by numbers: Overall PF of Rogers Centre is 103 (2014) Homerun PF of Rogers Centre is 109 (2014) Overall PF of Coliseum is 97 (2014) - 6% increase at RC Homerun PF of Coliseum is 92 (2014) - 17% increase at RC We're looking at a major increase in HR and signifcant increase in overall batting performance for Donaldson.
  6. Quality was poor in my last post, here's a better overlay of Josh Donaldson's Coliseum spray map on RC (it looks like no more HR by park alone) http://i.imgur.com/7Y2BfBp.png
  7. For those asking about Park Factor performance increase, maybe these will help Coliseum with Rogers Centre overlayed (in red): http://www.hittrackeronline.com/overlay/overlay_1417234600_204004216.jpg Josh Donaldson's 2014 spray chart on top of Rogers Centre (the dark blue are already homeruns), essentially based on this he would have not hit anymore HR at RC this year. http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=887&d=1417235337
  8. Guys. I can't believe I fell asleep early and woke-up to this, it's totally amplifying the surrealness factor. I just read the entire 15 pages of this thread to allow myself time to react rationally. AA has balls of f***ing steal. He just traded off arguably our most popular player (yes arguably more popular than even Bautista), in the last 2-3 years Lawrie when healthy probably put more fans in the seats than any other player (it's arguable at least). AA is in it to win it, or just doesn't give a f***. Lawrie has great defense, particularly at third, but Donaldson's defense is an actual thing of beauty... he may even be better than Longoria at third. I absolutely love Josh Donaldson. Not everyone wanted to admit because he was a Blue Jay but Lawrie is a douche and with Lind gone probably had no place in our CH. I hope Donaldson's defense translates well on turf (does anyone know from memory how he does on turf?). His bat is going take off at RC. Lawrie on the other hand, his defense may improve at Coliseum but his HR power is going to drop off (and he was showing real signs of it this year). I liked Nolin but he was a whatever 'prospect', Graveman was not one of our top prospects, and Barreto is too far down in the minors to be an actual threat yet anyway.
  9. So first he prefers the Jays and now he doesn't. Make up your damn mind.
  10. I was listening to the radio when this happened, sounded like a nothing-article.
  11. I wasn't being serious. If you don't get what I was trying to say I don't know what else I can do for you.
  12. No, clearly. Though I imagine he would be less likely to "wait it out".
  13. Yeah I know but we're talking tens of millions regardless after making $22/mo.
  14. Can't believe the season ended less than a month ago, feels like FOREVER
  15. What I don't understand is how do you come from Cuba and not sign for any possible $$ value.... I mean everything has to look like a 100 million dollars compared to what they were earning before ($22 a month).
  16. You may be able to fluke yourself through the play-offs but there's only so much "fluke" in a 97-65 win season.
  17. 2012 Red Sox - Last Place 2013 Red Sox - World Series Champs #BlueJaysMessageBoardLogic
  18. That's fine. And the rest: you sound like you're trying to make a counter-point which makes no sense because I never implied otherwise.
  19. Depends on your perspective, but IMO priority should be planning to make the play-offs not planning for the play-offs. And therefore it becomes a want vs. need argument, you need a good starting staff, you don't need an ace, you certainly want him.
  20. There is a stigma that teams need an ace, but it's not entirely well formed. The only thing that matters is the collective performance of your starters, unless we're specifically talking about the play-offs where having an ace can clearly be beneficial. In more cases than not having a group of "good" starters instead a group plus an ace (assuming in either case the collective value is the same) will be more economically viable.
  21. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. If anything I was advocating against it but trying to remain neutral for sake of thread discussion.
