  1. Maybe we will see Brett Cecil back in the World Series; Toronto Blue Jays’ Brett Cecil is throwing again after suffering calf tear: ‘He’s moving along’ http://www.canada.com/sports/baseball/toronto+blue+jays+brett+cecil+throwing+again+after+suffering/11437754/story.html
  2. WOW! What a game!!! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista! Bautista!
  3. Just to quote myself. Nothing fazes Edwin. I want Edwin to retire in Toronto and live here for the rest of his life and for his son to play on the Blue Jays.
  4. I hope they leave Stroman in until he obviously can't pitch any further. Gibbons doesn't have to save him for the next round (they need to win this one).
  5. Need another shutout inning from Stroman. Edwin is coming up in the bottom of the inning and he doesn't seem to get fazed at the plate.
  6. Yeah, that is where the defense can get the offense going! Pillar is already an All Star in my books. Plus he hits in the bottom of the inning.
  7. Now if Stroman can shut them down in the 4th, the Blue Jays are starting to get to Hamels.
  8. Make them pay, Colabello. Be patient and hammer it!
  9. That's the way Bautista. Thankfully he wasn't swinging for the fences.
  10. Goins was hoping for a walk. Not a good strategy.
  11. The Rangers look too happy and confident. The Blue Jays have to get something going soon before Hamels completely shuts them down.
  12. This is not looking good. Stroman needs to get another shut-down inning.
  13. Nice walk Edwin. Let's have a good at bat Colabello. Yeah Colabello. Colabello doubters are becoming fewer.
  14. Caught stealing 3rd, that wasn't smart. Hopefully the Blue Jays can get things going now.
  15. I have confidence in Stroman. Once he gets it going he can shut the Rangers down for 4 or 5 innings.
  16. It will be a big lift for the Blue Jays if they get out of this inning with no runs scored. Not the start I had hoped for. This is nerve-wracking. A double play would be nice here. I don't want to see Deshields in this situation.
  17. Interesting article on why Price was left in for 50 pitches in game 4 - http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/stroman-not-price-is-simply-blue-jays-best-right-now/ an excerpt from the article: . . .The truth is, the Blue Jays – Gibbons in particular – decided that Stroman was going to be their Game 5 starter some time in the third inning of Game 2, when Stroman started to carve up the Rangers after Price did not get a single swing and miss on his fastball in a Game 1 loss to the Rangers – an alarming occurrence that led one Blue Jays executive to suggest off-the-record that Price looked "gassed." And with Aaron Loup not available and Price not used to being warmed up, sat down, and warmed up again, Gibbons resolved to go with Price as long as he could once he put him in Game 4. Fact is, had Price not run into trouble in the eighth, he might have finished it off. Stroman isn’t starting because Gibbons is a fan of the narrative; he is, simply, the Blue Jays best starter right now, with the best stuff. . . . Pretty much confirms what some of us thought. Gibbons didn't want to use David Price in game 5 and that was the reason for pitching him to the point of exhaustion in game 4. In my mind, it also indicates why Gibbons took Dickey out with only one out left in the 5th inning and put Price in - Gibbons needed a good excuse to pitch David Price in game 4. So replacing Dickey with Price had more to do with eliminating Price from game 5 than needing him in game 4.
  18. Although I want to believe that the Blue Jays have the momentum going into game 5, such a thing doesn't seem to apply to two very good teams in the playoffs - http://m.mlb.com/news/article/154350668/richard-justice-jays-rangers-eschew-momentum For the Blue Jays to have a good chance, Stroman will have to set them down with no runs long enough for the Blue Jays to put a couple on the board. If the Blue Jays can hold a slim lead early in the game then I think it will just be a matter of time before they break the game open. On the other hand, if the Rangers get ahead early and the Blue Jays start pushing then it will be a nerve-wracking game.
  19. ministry - is that as a Minister or government ministry?
  20. I have a lot of confidence when I see Pillar coming up to plate and seeing him in CF. It would be great if Goins breaks out of his no-hit streak in today's game.
  21. At first I thought that was a put down of International Wok, but then I realized that you're suggesting phoning in sick. Bosses don't like that - especially when they know there is a Blue Jays game on .
  22. Honestly, it is best to watch it on TV, in my opinion. With PVR I can rewind and rewatch any play as the game proceeds.
