  1. Carrera is playing LF for Texas. Or maybe it is Stubbs.
  2. I just hope this won't be another heartbreaking extra inning loss like Wednesday's game in San Francisco. Those are tough on fans.
  3. I hope Pillar won't be out for too many games. He has become a very important player on the team.
  4. All true at this point, and unless Matt Bush cleans up his act and shows that it is a real change, then it will be difficult for people to forget. I saw this YouTube video a couple days ago and considered it to be uplifting - https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=tim+allen+youtube&qpvt=tim+allen+youtube&view=detail&mid=8B6986C4AB1B6E2BF7ED8B6986C4AB1B6E2BF7ED&FORM=VRDGAR . I didn't realize that Tim Allen the actor had spent two years in prison. However, in his case, his life started going in the wrong direction when his father was killed by a drunk driver.
  5. If Dickey can continue to pitch this well (or even close to it) for the rest of the season then the Blue Jays will be in good shape considering that they also have Stroman, Sanchez, Happ and Estrada. If the bullpen becomes average or above average, then the Blue Jays might go on a good win streak. In spite of the tough loss to the Giants on Wednesday, they have now won 3 out of 4 on this road trip. The Blue Jays are now at 19-18 compared to 17-20 after the same number of games in 2015.
  6. I hope this will be a watchable game with Dickey pitching. I plan to PVR it and watch it at fast forward.
  7. There was also the bunt in front of home base that Martin threw to 2nd on a one hop and was not held onto by Tulowitzki. That should have been the first out; it was Martin's fault but at one time Tulowitzki would have held onto it. What is wrong with Tulowitzki; he went 61 straight games as a Blue Jay with no errors and now I think he has about 6 errors in the past 2 weeks or so(?) Someone mentioned that he had to switch from his floppy old glove to a newer glove, maybe he needs to get his old faithful glove back. Luckily he hasn't started throwing balls away, except for one. It is so frustrating seeing these Blue Jays revert back to the old, unreliable team. At least the Raptors and St Louis Blues won today.
  8. No, Gibbons can't be blamed for Tepera's performance today. It was a good test of Tepera's potential and Tepera showed that he is still not ready for the major leagues.
  9. Great shutout by Happ with help from Osuna and the Blue Jays defense. The Blue Jays are now at 18-17; last year they were at 17-18 after 35 games. Just a tidbit of information
  10. Happ is incredible, he just coolly went about his business in spite of the error and got the two outs. Happ deserves a shutout tonight.
  11. It would be nice to see J Happ get the complete game shutout.
  12. Yes, I think that is actually a good look for Tulowitzki: http://underscoopfire.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/ricky-vaughn.jpg They both have that stern look.
  13. I think it would be amusing if it turns out that Tulowitzki just needs eye glasses/contacts. Maybe a pair of glasses would solve all of his hitting problems. It seems to have done wonders for Brett Lawrie.
  14. Interesting, his expression hasn't changed in the past 35 years; he looked just as intense as a 1 year old. This picture seems to show that he has always had that intensity that he displays as a baseball player. Doesn't his shirt look like a girl's outfit? His mother has a nice pleasant face.
  15. I enjoy games that Estrada pitches. I expect the Dodgers to have a tough time scoring runs today.
  16. It definitely causes more passed balls and wild pitches. In any case, it makes playing the infield more unpredictable. As has been stated at least twice by Buck Martinez, Dickey himself feels that the infield shouldn't be playing defensive shifts when he is pitching, since groundballs off the knuckleball is too unpredictable. I don't see how such unpredictability is an advantage to the Blue Jay infielders.
  17. I won't have to watch Dickey pitch for another 5 games. That is the only good thing that I got out of watching this game.
  18. I really dislike Dickey starts. Even when he has a good knuckleball like today, it causes passed balls by the catcher, and errors when it is hit to infielders. Does anyone have stats on passed balls and errors when Dickey starts versus other Blue Jay pitchers?
  19. I like the Blue Jays chances. 1 thru 5 of the lineup is hot right now. Also Saunders and Barney have been hitting the ball well. I don't expect too much from Tulowitzki on offense but the Blue Jays need his defense. Josh Thole isn't a downgrade from Russel Martin, since Martin hasn't been hitting consistently.
  20. I like to warn new posters on this message board that they will need a very thick skin to post on this forum, however, I think posters have become more civil on this forum; maybe the mods are doing a good job. In any case, if I want Blue Jays news then this seems like a good place to find it. I can even call Donald Trump a foolish bigot, and talk about movies and science on this forum; so good work to the creators of this forum. Just a note to new posters - you can read Boxcar's posts but never, ever respond to them - that made posting on this forum so much easier for me
  21. Did she really say that?
  22. Maybe you can spice it up by providing a link to Pillar's "wife trolling Barry Davis", that would be interesting. Was it on Twitter?
  23. I have a lot of confidence in Pillar now. Every time he comes to the plate I expect him to hit the ball hard. Just for info, there is a Pillar appreciation thread at this link - http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/5564-Pillar-Appreciation-Thread?highlight=pillar , although there weren't many posts at the time.
  24. Except for the first 5 balls thrown, his pitches looked good, especially his change up. I think there is reason for optimism.
