    Seems to me is that you have already found a escape goat if Shapiro fails Shapiro is left with twice as much value as Ash left AA. AA got the Jays to ALCS in six years lets see if Shapiro can do even that

    I think this is just formality. Neither will get the kind of offers that will make them avoid free agency. The only hope we have is that both look at the unsigned offensive free agents left and rationalize that security is more important.

    By the way based on the trade yesterday Jays improved their projected WAR from 38.9 to 39.8 since Revere was projected to be replacement Still behind both Redsox and Yankees. We need a viable backup C

    I don't dislike the Osuna fighting for a rotation spot assuming he stretches out the mlb not in AAA Not all WAR is the same. It's easier to replace 2 WAR in LF then it is to find a reliever that is projected at 1 WAR. Pompey/Saunders will replace Revere and nothing will be lost whole we likely upgraded a replacement level reliever with Storen

    Why minors If he got MLB hitters out what is he going to learn in AAA. If you want to stretch him out do it during spring training and the season

    Bottom line is this is an amazing deal. Storen is in a contract year. Sanchez shouldn't be starting either.

    He was up there to make contact. That is his specialty. He has got to have enough sense Mind you in a key bat in game 5 against Rangers he also hit a very weak grounder and didn't get the run home. Followed by a crucial mistake of not following the ball on the Donaldson loope misplay. Not to glorify clutch at bats but his so called contact skills are over rated. He is a below average defender who significantly relies on a high babip (30 points higher than avg). He isn't that you either. Pompey > Revere Put Pompey full time in LF he probably out WARs Revere.

    @Big Cecil he should have never been taking that 2-1 pitch. That was the problem

    People should keep in mind that the Jays can likely get 2 WAR from LF probably more from other sources But they probably couldn't get a WAR from another reliever. Now if we had kept Hendrik's it would have been a wow pen
