    Omg spanky First establish a benchmark for average performance vs clutch performance for the league then compare it to Bautista average vs clutch So while Bautista might be 10% worse clutch vs average he may still be better than a league that is 20% worse clutch vs average which would make him a plus 10 In this case looking at just Bautista's numbers is misleading

    Can someone tweet to Bobcat that ESPN's David Schoenfield predicted the Jays to have the fifth best record in MLB winning the AL East at 91-71 He is so f***ing ignorant keeps saying his I haven't seen anyone predict the Jays garbage.

    I think its an incorrect analysis to compare a players own overall performance to his clutch perfomance. A better comparison would be player overall performance vs league average to player cluth performance vs league clutch performance with the Delta measuring overall clutch performance

    How about divesting the risk by having team options in place. So give him 5/150 but have team options to opt out of the deal at the end of year 3

    Its funny, he looks like the kind of guy who hates Toronto. First his comments in 2009 after almost being in the Halladay trade. Then 2014 when he wasn't getting the starts I was really surprised to see him sign here, just didn't get it. you know what else i didn't get Trading an ace reliever for a guy who is now 7th on your starting pitching depth charts.

    Anyways, I dont think the leadoff spot is going to dictate the end result of the Jays season this year. The offense is good enough, and it will definately be top 5 in baseball, probably top 3, and possibly the best again. The question is going to be starting pitching, to that end, we need to stop with these Ace Aaron Sanchez fantasies. Hutch needs to start and have a good comeback season for us, Happ needs to carry on his momentum from Pittsburgh, Estrada has to continue to be Acetrada, and old man Dickey better not collapse completely.
