  1. PNC park makes a lot of sense given it's a state of the art MLB park, proximity to travel schedule, and reasonable size & amenities for covid measures. Pirates would be doing us a solid given they took Ben Cherington & Steve Sanders from our front office.
  2. If someone sees the lineup posting let me know I'll update the OP

  5. Plan H - Jays are on the road for 60 games, but they play the Orioles all season.
  6. They have a bit of extra time as the season starts on the road, but not by much. Dunedin was actually plan A because the border crossing issues were clear even a month ago. Florida became a dumpster fire, which pegged them to change spring training location back home to Toronto. Plan C is Buffalo, but the field is not ready and it’s not designed for MLB level operations due to lack of space and lighting. Plan D is New Hampshire which might not be a bad choice given the proximity to airport and hotel next to the stadium, plus low covid numbers. Plan E would be renting a third party park, there have been offers from other MiLB teams like Hartford.
  7. McGuire really just needs to be a defensive stud as a second catcher, but he has flashed some ability to hit in the small sample, any offense you get from Reese is a bonus. Hatch could very well be a piece of the puzzle. I’m not sure to what extent, but there’s multiple roles open for him as a depth starter, long reliever, or even setup man. The whiff and spin rates are encouraging but he’ll have to prove it in the majors. The org seems to like him so he’ll get opportunities. I wouldn’t be surprised if Romano becomes a lights-out BP arm, but there’s still some question marks about the consistency of his slider, I have high hopes for him. The velo uptick to 96-99 and ability to control the FB is encouraging. Derek Fisher breaking out from mediocrity would be a pleasant surprise and potential impact piece, but I’m not holding my breath. The bar has been set so low for our outfield as it’s full of quad-A and fringe talent right now. It’s an abyssal gap in production after Gurriel and “summer” Grichuk. Davis & Alford are realistically depth outfielders. If I had to chose one major breakout this year it would be Danny Jansen. He obliterated baseballs in spring training and has completely change his routines over the offseason. If the minor league skillet translates to MLB, he’s a top 10 catcher.
  8. I hardly ventured into the OT threads about covid and politics, but now it’s obvious why those threads were deleted.
  9. Teoscar just disrespected maple syrup, trade his ass!
  10. Hey there lol Trade him while his bat is still hot
  11. The package is steep, but it’s mostly speculation. These type of players aren’t usually available especially at this age and far from arbitration. It would certainly bolster the OF position a fair bit, and he can be an impact guy that matches the core contention window. Giving up Kirk or Manoah means we’re dealing from a position with some depth (C + P). But I’d be pleasantly surprised if Atkins can pull it off. 130 wRC+ sustained projections is probably a bit generous, I’m thinking closer to 120~. But in the AL East his HR numbers certainly has a chance to go way up.
