    Phillies also travel to Florida for Marlins & TB this season. There’s two MLB teams in PA state. Adding the Blue Jays isn’t a groundbreaking event for the state of Pennsylvania, to be blunt they just rather not have us. This isn’t the Pirates fault, more so the USA government flexing on Canada.

    I know the Red Sox have near unlimited financial resources in baseball terms, but this is one example the luxury tax has influenced a team to make a significant franchise decision. We have no idea if Mookie would’ve changed his mind and extended with Boston, while Verdugo will probably end up a decent offensive player. But we can’t argue this outcome was financially driven.

    We have one of the worst starting outfield combo (LF+CF+RF) in the AL & NL east combined, aside from maybe the Orioles and Marlins. It's not the right time to ship away Grichuk just yet, the drop-off behind him is immense and you won't get reasonable value for him.     They're planning big things for the Rogers centre and the downtown area complex, not just minor upgrades. This level of construction work will take a long time and permits from multiple levels of government, those things don't get approved overnight. Their plan is to reimagine that entire area with amenities, hotels, vendors, transportation, etc. It seems like a good idea to "get stuff done" when the dome is empty, but it's actually pretty difficult to put into practice. There's just not enough time and things don't move that quickly, especially during a pandemic.
