  1. Any team can win in the postseason, IMO, which just a SSS tournament. The hard part is getting there. The East winner will likely play the Central winner (likely Detroit, whose rotation will still be scary regardless of struggles).
  2. Orioles and Yanks doing themselves no favours whatsoever. Still 38-24 to 45-39 really smarts.
  3. Terrible series, but none of the matchups were in our favour. Still, the previous two games were not only winnable, but there on silver platters. Sucks. Really tough stretch next too.
  4. I understand this, but I don't think it should factor into decision-making. Every batter either gets on or doesn't. What happened before McGowan faced Viciedo had no impact on the outcome. The mean is the mean, but Viciedo could have just as easily popped up. How does 75% strand rate get adjusted when the hitter is under .250 or struggles against righties? The matchup is always more important than watching for regression.
  5. It doesn't work like that. It's nonsense that commentators and coaches and players say in interviews. There's no such thing as being due.
  6. I don't know. I feel like if Stroman was coming out, why not use Loup on Dunn? I see the logic in bringing in McGowan, but I think the better move was to neutralize Dunn with Loup. Stro looked like he was instructed to dance around Dunn, too, but I could be wrong on that.
  7. The trio of lefty starters killed us, forcing Gibbons to field a righty-heavy lineup missing actual good hitters. At least facing a righty we could have seen all of our starters. The lefties neutralized a lot of our talent on top of missing Jose and Lawrie.
  8. Ugh. These missed opportunities to chip away have killed us this series.
  9. Yeah. Beginning from the STL series, which seemed to be where the offense went bye-bye, Jays are 8-14. This is the worst stretch the team has had so far. Started the season 13-17 before going into a 5-game win streak and ending up with a wonderful 30 or so games. Jays look very April 2013 right now.
  10. These guys are looking like they just want their day off.
  11. So frustrating, I know. The East is really mediocre, wow.
  12. A spark for just this series would be fine with me.
  13. Agreed. We'll need a hell of an effort from Dickey tonight too. On the O's: Outside of the White Sox handing them two come-from-behind victories, they certainly aren't playing like a team who wants to catch first place.
  14. Brutal lineup, but not much that can be done. If it's any consolation, though, the Jays just picked up half a game on the O's, who just lost to the Rays.
  15. Game 1 of a DH vs Rays not going so well for the O's. Down 5-1 in the 6th.
  16. Seriously. Everyone involved in that play was completely incompetent except Navarro and he's the one who gets called out and loses three ounces. Unfair.
  17. The scorekeeper is an intern trying to make an impression.
  18. Reyes on fire since literally that brutal play vs NYY.
  19. Holy s***, f*** the White Sox. Ugh.
  20. Yup. In 25-ish years of watching ball this might be the first time I witnessed a no-no in its entirety. I only caught Halladay vs Reds in the eighth or so a few years ago. Neat.
  21. Bleh. Game over. At least we got to hear Buck say "Twenty-hundred".
