Smoak is average at worst as a defender and depending on your definition of good has been above average for us. But yes we have lumps of coal on defense and having a 1 dimensional DH hogging the spot doesn't help our older players. However, it's not really fair that our Plan C for backup infielders and catcher has to be graded against starters?

Not only that, it's actually very hard to steal signs from second. Catchers change their indicators throughout the game, they don't just hold down a 1 and point to the outer corner lol. Runners will signal where the catcher is setting up on the plate all the time (which is why some catchers including Martin will often jump from one side to the other as a decoy) but relaying actual signs is not as easy as just being on second. Technology on the other hand you can monitor there signs throughout the game, have an accurate first hand of what's coming and with a little ingenuity find a way to relay that to the player.

IP resolved to Ashburn lol. I really can't believe the Os and Jays went 13 innings in a 1-0 game. Should have won it in the 9th, too bad Bautista has become utter garbage. Great game by Biagini, if only he could repeat that regularly as a starter.
