  1. Out speed you? FFS tabler...
  2. How is wolf still kicking around?
  3. Drabek's arm is as shriveled as his options. He had lots of chances, I wish him best of luck but I highly doubt this will be something that we come to regret.
  4. Aww come on man! How are we supposed to win spring training?
  5. This really doesnt leave much experience in the bullpen. Options or no, im not sure this is a wise move.
  6. The real question is: Are we going with 3 catchers? If we are, that is obviously going to affect bench and bullpen depth and the platoon questions ie: what to do with Viceado and Tolleson come to the forefront. The short answer to the question of opening day starter is probably Smoak as we are playing the Yankees and Tanaka will probably start. If it is Sabathia, then Valencia.
  7. Realistically, its probably going to be Norris unless he gets shut down early. I really want it to be Travis though: 2B has been an eyesore for too long.
  8. He has been pretty good, but I dont know how he can be a lock either.
  9. I had a sweet lemon in costa rica once. Picture the flavor of lemon without the acidity and sugar instead. Thats # 2 on the list... if you have ever eaten a lemon after having miracle fruit, it is kinda like that.
  10. And btw my botanist wife says that we think of strawberries are technically "recepticals" the little seeds on the out side are individual fruits.
  11. For me, its Rambutan (mamon chino for Ang).
  12. It is obviously not possible and was prefaced by the word if.
  13. Well not everyone is in the he sucks or he is going to be cy young camp. im on the fence myself. I think he earned a chance to start and with stroman out it is inevitable. Not going to predict how well he does. I plan on sitting back with a couple of beers and seeing how he turns out and that is frankly the fun of baseball. If advanced stats were so good as to predict every outcome, it would be a boring f***ing game.
  14. One thing is for sure: regardless of how Sanchez turns out this season this thread is going to get thrown in the face of half the membership of this forum... some pretty hard lines being drawn.
  15. I see Castro pitching out of the BP until Juneish assuming he doesnt falter before then. Then they will send him back to the minors and he will again come back in around late July or early August as a starter (someone will be hurt by then).
  16. I recall Stroman getting some time in the pen early on and that worked out nice in the end. If they want to give him a look at big league hitters, i dont see how a few innings in relief hurts him.
  17. I am surprised that jimenez is ranked so far down. Guy has impressed me this spring.
  18. Too bad he was having a good spring.
  19. How about these former jays chosen mostly at random and known for decent careers*: Chris Carpenter? http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1292&position=P David Wells? http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=855&position=P Roy Halladay? http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1303&position=P Ted Lilly? http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=833&position=P Ramon Ortiz? http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=27&position=P Jim Clancy? http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1002255&position=P Phil Niekro? http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1009583&position=P (little known fact that he played 3 games for the Jays, doesnt really belong on this list) OF course he may never establish great command and still turn out ok. Like Dave Stewart for example, who had a poor k/9 & BB/9 and still had a good career. *- edit: ha ha forgot i had ortiz on here.
  20. This is for Buffalo's rotation, probably to replace whoever replaces Stroman. Speaking of stretching out though: I noticed Castro got 2IP in relief today. Coincidence?
  21. I see Sanchez, Norris and Santana as the big wildcards with Estrada being another J.A. Happ at best. I think we have serviceable options for 4th and 5th spots in the rotation. If we have to go any deeper then it is going to be another 80 win season tops. Considering the age of Dickey/Buehrle and Huchison's Tommy John history, we might need a 6th and 7th option.
  22. Damn. I kept saying that he was injury prone... but f***ing bunt drill? Didn't see that coming.
  23. Buck claimed he had a below average fastball. So basically, I have no idea how fast he throws.
  24. Buck is a drunk. Joe Siddall is a wannabe.
