Norris 160 IP - 2.0 fWAR (solid to all-star caliber but with a couple rough patches)
Sanchez 100 IP - 1.0 fWAR (ends up in bullpen before mid June)
Castro 50 IP - 0.4 fWAR
Osuna 40 IP - 0.3 fWAR (gets sent down, comes back for expanded roster)
Batters
Travis 475 PA - 1.5 fWAR
Pompey 400 PA - 0.8 fWAR
Total - 6.0
More study required imo. How much does a pitchers control factor into a batter's aggression at the plate? If a pitcher cant paint the corners or get called strikes, batters are not going to swing at borderline pitches and will wait for good hitter counts to develop, sit on fastballs etc. Id like to see how often batters getting called strike 3 in early innings become overly aggressive in their next at bat.
If you can afford the salary, then he is an awesome backup catcher... not much more though. Also, im not sure we can afford him.
I will hesitate to add that in limited bats as PH and DH last year, he was fairly productive.
I think I would have McDonald, Alex Gonzalez, and Tony Fernandez above him. Even if we strictly consider 2B, I think Orlando Hudson was better (as a Jay).
