  1. We're seeing the beginning of the new Ward and Henke here.
  2. All too reminiscent of last year, but hopefully the leashes this year are a heck of a lot shorter. There are options in the bullpen and this year is about winning and not about protecting egos.
  3. Can't fault Martin for that one, it's all on Cecil. Martin had pretty good form there.
  4. 2nd game of the season or not you can't be f***ing around with giving away games. If Loup can't get the job done in this role move him down and give someone else the chance. I hope Gibby thinks twice before giving him the next hold opportunity.
  5. Wow, it's so uncharacteristic of the Yankees baseball we're used to seeing. Opening night with Didi trying to steal 3rd and now McCann's error.....I can't understand the stupidity of either decision.
  6. Wow, that decision by Didi was beyond stupid. What could you possibly gain in that situation?
  7. New drinking game. Every time Buck mentions Tanaka's "lack of velocity" take a shot!
  8. My money is on Reyes not coming out for the back half of the inning. Who's our backup at SS?
  9. Hahaha, did anyone catch Barker's "3 Strikes" segment? Unintentionally hilarious. "Score more runs!! Win more games!!" And it's reoccuring segment apparently so there'll be lots of material to joke about over the year.
  10. Just because someone played ball doesn't mean they have any meaningfull or intelligent analysis to add. Which is, you know, something you think you'd have to do to get a job like that.
  11. God, Barker is something else...... I don't know how anyone can listen to this guy.
  12. You know, it's gotten to the point where it's impossible to distinguish the real Wilner tweets from fake Wilner.
  13. I don't know man....with the Red Sox luck I pretty much expect their staff to have career years. That's just the way it goes....
  14. Castro 5K/9 in the spring. Not missing any bats, looks like a junk baller.
  15. Man, with a little luck and a lot of health it's exciting to think what the Jays could have with this young pitching core in the next 2-3 years. And then I think, oh yeah....luck and health. Right.
  16. The problem is that to get a big name other teams will be asking for a package starting with Norris/Sanchez/Pompey. You'd be filling a need by further depleting what little depth you have and then when the next SP injury came along you'd be in an even worse position.
  17. It's really starting to sink in what this means for the Jays chances and what will happen when the inevitable injury happens to another SP. Stro was one of the most entertaining players we've had in some time and it's going to f'n suck not being able to watch him carve up batters for a full year. Not to get too far ahead of things but what will this do to his arm and innings limit in 2016? I'm sure they won't risk an arm injury by having him throw off a mound until the ACL is fully healed and does not in any way affect his mechanics.
  18. Jesus, why can't we have nice things too??? Gotta be a very significant injury.....and not PED because I don't think clubs announce those.
  19. Honestly, if that's what it is the team can manage around the loss. If it's EE, Bau or a starter then look out.
  20. If it's a serious injury please let it be a reliever and not an everyday player or starter. Not that I would wish an injury on anyone, of course........ That tweet sounds so ominous though, season altering even.
  21. Agree completely. I would think continuity is pretty important when it comes to hitting coaches as long as they're getting results. The Jays will now be moving to their 4th hitting coach, and hitting philosophy, in the last 4 years. How does this even happen? I've never heard of a team not being able to come to terms with a hitting coach. If he's your "guy" how could there be such a disconnect with salary and terms when there's probably a close to standard pay band for the position? Does this organization care to pay attention at all to optics and reputation? One embarassing situation after another. It's a nice cap to the season that started with the Santana money hat.
  22. I'm thoroughly disenfranchised by this s***. Bullpen depth, blah blah blah. Whatever. Make some deals that add wins. #lovethisteam!
  23. Are the number of roster transactions tracked, by team? I'm interested in seeing how the Jays stack up to the rest of the league. It seems like there's so much more juggling of roster spots than ever before and where has it gotten us? Replacement player after replacement player. Roster and "asset management", AAs supposed strength, has resulted in very litle positive. He's just shuffling inconsequential pieces.
  24. I fully expect this will be how the next couple of years play out......addition here, subtraction there, with the FO hoping they get "lucky" one season and everything goes right. A full rebuild would be incredibly tough to sell to the fanbase and the higher ups/Rogers. It's the right thing to do though, in my opinion, if you're not willing to take the steps needed to correct the obvious roster flaws and set this team back towards contention. The very definition of no man's land.
