  1. Bautista has actually been noticeably worse in high leverage situations in his career. His wRC+ drops by about 30 points.
  2. Why Kawa in the 2 spot? You are setting up to get killed with a lefty from 5-7. Reyes Cabrera Lind Bautista Rasmus Francisco Gillepsie Kawasaki Thole
  3. Bitch about what? Im not sure the blue jays would want to move him there anyway considering at 3rd base is probably going to make him more injury prone.
  4. I was thinking the same thing the other day. Great bat, mashes lefties. I wonder what the cost would be. Also apparently Bautista said he is up for playing whatever position the team needs be it 3B or 1B.
  5. If Brad Glen is getting ABs he definetly deserves a spot. Pillar is a pretty good defender at all 3 outfield positions and is a pretty good baserunner. Glen is not, and they look to be about the same offensively.
  6. I agree with that statement to a point. Some pitchers will have higher BABIP then others, just like hitters. While hitters can control it better, there are pitchers like Corey Kluber who will have a much higher BABIP than a pitcher like Jared Weaver. Does defence account for some of that? Absolutely but their career performance shows one gives up more hard contact than the other.
  7. Well his cutter will be strikes because McCann is one of the best framers in baseball. Clear upgrade for the Yankees and they gave up nothing and the Dbacks ate salary. No idea why the Jays woulldn't get him for depth if that was the cost.
  8. I don't think anyone is blaming umpires and luck for the losing. The team has played terrible but its frusterating when the umpiring is consistently bad. That replay call killed any chance the Blue Jays had of winning, you could just see how demorilized the team was. Would they have won if Cabrera is scored safe? Probably not, but it would of at least been a good baseball game.
  9. Sounds like a ligament if he heard a pop. Any extended amount of time he's out and the season is pretty much over if they cant trade for anyone.
  10. Team really needs to pick a direction. You either spend money and put a contender on the ice because there is some really nice pieces on that team. Or you rebuild and get some draft picks. That said, still a great signing.
  11. Thats a joke when the replay clearly showed he was safe. I really dont get it..
  12. The Dodgers took Carl Crawford's contract and actually gave up prospects. There will be a team that would take them. We could probably get a decent return as well.
  13. It did not work with Stroman in any sense. He came up said he was uncomfortable and had to go back down and get stretched out again. This would be an awful decision because: 1. Norris and Sanchez are used to starting and coming out of the bullpen will probably be uncomfortable for them. Stroman who used to be a reliever even said it was hard to adjust. 2. You are starting these prospects service time and wasting an option when you don't even know if they will perform. 3. Related to point #2, the upgrade you could expect even if all goes right is probably not worth very much. 4. There is no evidence to suggest these guys are even ready for the Big leagues. Sanchez has a terrible walk rate and the Ks are down. Norris has pitched 20 innings in AA. I have no idea what the Org. would be thinking if this happened. Hopefully Bowden is just being an idiot becasue he heard it from a scout who had an opinion.
  14. Hes owed 22 million for the next 2 seasons. Even if they take half of that it won't be worth the prospect to get him. He's not better than Happ and when he was in the AL East before he was terrible. McCarthy a much better option
  15. I really doubt Edwin Jackson is even an upgrade over the 5 starters we have right now. Trading for him would be pretty stupid. Edit: why are you saying McCarthy is not a good upgrade while saying Edwin Jackson would be an interesting guy to look at?
  16. Well the Yankees will be looking for an upgrade so that might drive the price up a little bit. I just hope they can get something done now because with Lawrie out a 3rd baseman can be the difference of a win until he is back.
  17. I heard the hit tool was a question mark. Its the power/speed/arm that are the plus tools with the question being if he will hit enough.
  18. That is my thought as well. Although he hasn't performed very well this season he has still hit lefties pretty well and is a above average defender at 3rd base. I wonder if the Dbacks trade him straight up for Nay. I think its a sellers market and while the value may be off we are going to still have to give up a decent prospect for an upgrade.
  19. I wouldn't even trade Stroman or Hutchison straight up for Samardzija and Hammel. They both have put up numbers that would be pretty similar to what you could expect from those two guys coming over and transitioning to the AL East. Plus they are making league min. on rookie contracts.
  20. I didn't even think of that but that would be a pretty good way to get them to take money on the deal. Prado + McCarthy for Mitch Nay, Nolin and Romero.
  21. Prado certainly doesn't seem like a bad target for the rest of the season. Not a fan of the contract though and I think the Dbacks won't want to take back salary and will still want a decent prospect.
  22. I wouldn't say that is an upgrade over our starters we have now. Also doubt As would trade to a team they could potentially face in the playoffs. They are probably better keeping them as depth.
  23. Other GMs probably see the Blue Jays weaknesses and are asking for the moon because they know they still have plenty of time to trade their assets. Like the Houston thing we saw the Astros asked for a ridiculous package for Bud Norris before they had to deal him. If the Padres asked for Sanchez for Headley I would really hope AA says no which I am sure he has. The Padres still have a month for Headley to build up more trade value unless they get a deal that is too good to pass up.
