  1. 12 000 blue jays fans in seattle is louder than 35 000 at the RC lol..
  2. Jays are +215 in this game. Definitely a huge underdog but lets hope we pull through!
  3. I think Hech's defence is overrated from when he was in Toronto. When the tracking info gets put in every stadium and if it becomes available to the public, defensive performance will become much more accurate and UZR will not have to be used.
  4. No we wouldn't. Goins is great defence/No Bat. Reyes is great bat/bad defence.
  5. What makes you think his range will be better at 2nd than SS? He still has terrible range.
  6. I think it would be a huge mistake to have Reimold heading into the season as your starting DH. There has been no evidence to suggest he can stay healthy for a full season let alone a half season. He strikes out around 25% of the time as well so he reminds me of a Colby Rasmus with less power. You're better off to keep Lind and know that your are at least going to get a very good bat in the lineup all be it only vs RHP.
  7. I think veteran players do. Not sure about MLB but I know for the NHL guys on their rookie contracts they pair up.
  8. You could sell me on declining Lind's option and finding a replacement as a better move. Francisco likely is going to put up a 105 wRC+ over a full season and that even might be generous. Paying him 3-4 million$ for that would not be smart as I think that is his upside. He's terrible at 3rd base and is very inconsistent. If you are going to keep one Lind is the better option in terms of value for money IMO.
  9. Pentecost is going to Florida to be examined by the medical staff. Hopefully its nothing major, but doesn't sound very promising. http://blogs.theprovince.com/2014/08/10/canadians-catcher-max-pentecost-a-blue-jays-first-rounder-is-heading-to-florida-to-get-checked-out-by-team-medical-staff/
  10. Aren't allowed and what they do is completely different. Also I believe NCAA players get a stipend starting pretty soon? Ole Miss would not give money to a non impact player like him however.
  11. I don't believe Francisco is much more than a 110-115 wRC+ bat vs RHP. Lind can probably give you 130wRC+ at least and he is better against LHP than Francisco. Francisco is going to cost at least 3 million in arb. as he has the numbers that give lots of money to arb. players. And Francisco is a guy who will strikeout a ton of times and give you a HR once in a while. Not to mention the PR of letting lind go for francisco who most casual fans hate. There are much better ways to save money like trading Buehrle.
  12. I would agree. He will be getting too old for his level and won't have enough reps to see the progression. I wonder how much money they offered. Maybe Ole Miss offered more money?
  13. I can not see Francisco coming back next year. Lind likely costs about 3-5 million more than Francisco and he is worth much more than that.
  14. AA seems like a great GM to build a team from the ground up with. He's good at getting young talent but when it comes time to go from a low 80 win team to a 90 win team he struggles. Also, his roster management in season is pretty bad.
  15. He's pretty dumb not to take the deal. In a year or 2 he could have no future in either sport and be stuck packing groceries somewhere.
  16. According to this twitter account The PTBNL in the Happ trade was a choice of Norris or Comer. Imagine how terrible that trade would have been if it in fact was true and they selected Norris.
  17. Is the curve a plus pitch, or is it the slider? Iv heard both sides saying one is his best secondary and the other being the one he needs to improve on the most. I thought his slider looked pretty good at the future game but obviously SSS.
  18. Thats pretty smart as you would never want to extend a relief pitcher with a year left on his contract. What does this have to do with Norris though?
  19. http://www.breakingblue.ca/2013/12/06/prospect-chat-with-marc-hulet-fangraphs/ Marc chose a couple really good sleepers as well as hitting that Pompey would progress the most. BB: Coming into next season, who are two sleeper prospects in the system that no one is talking about? MH: I’ll go with two pitchers. Miguel Castro destroyed the Dominican Summer League last summer to earn a late-season trip to North America. The second is Ryan Borucki. I had a talent evaluator say some really good things about him right before he got hurt and required Tommy John surgery, causing him to miss all of 2013. Both pitchers should open the year in extended spring training. BB: Who do you see rising up the system in 2014? MH: People are starting to talk about Dalton Pompey and I think that will continue in 2014 as the Canadian continues to put all his tools together. Ryan Tepera is a guy that I could see moving quickly now that he’s in the bullpen. If he’s not popped in the Rule Five draft I could see him reaching Toronto in the second half of 2014.
  20. ...Checks Fangraphs to see how much his OBP went up.
