  1. Yup which is why everyone watches WJ over NHL during the holidays.
  2. People can criticize world juniors and TSN hyping it too much but those games were so much more entertaining than NHL regular season games. Watching the Sens Flyers game tonight seems like im watching paint dry compared to the junior games.
  3. Interesting talk about this on PTS with Davidi and Eliott. Davidi thinks that one of the big reasons is that Rose wants to be a HOF because he will use to for financial gain for memorabilia and stuff. I don't think he should be in personally. For you to manipulate games is the worst thing you can do as a guy in baseball.
  4. Yeah but "big" is such a grey area lol. That could mean 10 million, or it could mean 30 million like Yankees last year.
  5. Probably the same people who didn't vote Pedro and Randy lol
  6. Exactly and then fans read these s*** articles in the papers and actually believe these idiots. James Gordon is really the only Ottawa journalist I like and even he doesn't really follow the team much anymore. Sens actually have some good bloggers that are good to follow so I don't even pay attention to the dumbasses anymore.
  7. I never understand why idiot local journalists always have to have the "s*** on the best player of a bad team" mentality. Same thing in Ottawa early in the season. Karlsson isn't the right choice for captain and he's a minus "x". Like maybe if you look at the corpse he has to play with beside him in Chris Phillips you will find your answer of why he is a minus player. Star players aren't the reason their teams are bad. Its the crap surrounding them that is why the team is bad.
  8. Hawks seem like last year's Raptors. For as good as their O has been their defense is top 10.
  9. Washington has also had the 2nd easiest schedule according to Basketballreference thats why I had them as the 4th seed. Honestly wouldn't be surprised at any combination of the 1-4 seeds going to the big 4 in the East as its so wide open. Question as a Raps fan would you rather finish 4th and face the Cavs first round in the playoffs while Atlanta is the number 1 seed (team TOR matches up pretty well with) or come 1st in the East but Cavs/Bulls finish 4/5.
  10. Curious to see how much the Jays will go over budget in the upcoming signing period. Maybe the reason the big league payroll is smaller than what we thought is because they are going to spend 15 million on IFAs?
  11. Everything I've seen from the Hawks suggest this is real. I would put them on the same tier as Toronto and Chicago and think those 3 teams will be the top 3 seeds with Washington 4 and Cleveland 5.
  12. You get my last PM?
  13. I always find it so interesting to look at the contrast of the big 4 sports. MLB is so against PEDs but in the NFL/NBA if you get caught its a "okay, when will you be back" viewpoint.
  14. I don't really have a problem with guys like bonds not getting in. When the criteria is sportsmanship, integrity and character as well as ability then its perfectly reasonable why people don't vote them in.
  15. lol well yeah... I meant like what date.
  16. Agree. I think people overate him on defense because of his athleticism. Like you said, he seems to be struggling lately. According to NBA.com for the month of December he's allowed his opponents to shoot 44.2% from 3 which is 8.7% higher than their average. Now compare that to November where he allowed opponents to shoot only 29% from 3 which was 6% lower than their average. Now their probably is a bit of luck involved when looking month to month and when you take into account that the Raps defense in general has been a lot worse the numbers will likely be higher, but I don't think it is unreasonable to say JJ has been a lot worse defensively lately.
  17. Imo I think it happens more than just the gamble here and there but agree with your point. I don't know if SportVU has data on it but Ross has been dreadful on fighting through screens. I mean in that clip he took an awful angle which took him completely out of the play and we all remember how Kyle Korver goes off everytime we play the Hawks.
  18. So when does Dubas take over for Nonis?
  19. Another thing I found interesting is JJ helping too much on defense when it is unnecessary. There were a couple gifs. in the piece showing him out of position when he didn't need to be. Its weird because he has been for the most part opposite of what I thought. Good on offence and very efficient but as a whole he hasn't been that good on defense. He's got elite altheticsm and quick feet but he seems to help/over commit too much leading to open 3s. Good thing is it is correctable and he's such a good shot blocker that if he plays just a little bit smarter it should help a lot.
  20. Great read. Lowe is a top notch writer and whatever he writes about always is interesting. As for the article itself, there are some great points. Masai seems like he knows that this could be their opportunity as the East is wide open and in 3 years it could turn into the West of now. Sounds like he will dangle the 1st round pick this year with some expirings for help. Lowe sums up the defense pretty well and this quote is pretty good for the future
  21. If you think Casey is bad then you will think Brooks is even worse. His in game management is pretty poor and like you said they play a heavy Iso system. Its like the loss tn to GS. Great teams beat great players, same with Atlanta beating the Clippers.
  22. Yeah if they don't get a ship when they have had KD, Westbrook, Ibaka and Harden core its pretty sad. Brooks is also a bad coach.
  23. OKC is at 77 million right now. Add in Harden's 14.6 while subtracting Lamb and Adams combined 4.3 and you're roughly at 87 million. If the money was a huge issue Im sure they could of traded Perkins salary along with their 2014 1st freeing up another 10 million. Sometimes you have to go into the luxury tax if you want to win a ship and it doesn't look like OKC's owner wants to have any part in that.
  24. The owner could afford it but just chooses not to. He's the NBA's Eugene Melnyk. Would rather win the cost per win championship than the NBA championship.
  25. Nothin like a good ol cyber fight on a monday night!
