  1. He may be a ghost once a week but its a fact that he has had a better season than Faried. What don't you get about Faried being not good? He is a plus rebounder and thats it. You can have a guy try hard all you want, but it won't make his defense any better. Lowry/Demar/Ross/Faried/JV is a 5 below average defender lineup. Lowry is a good help defender but if you rely on him as much as the Raps do on offence he isn't going to be able to give you 100% on defense. You can't just plug "x" player into a lineup and think its going to work, you have to look and see if his skillset will fit with the rest of the group. I honestly think JJ would be a better fit at the 4 than Faried would be for this team. Also something I would like to see more often now.
  2. Leafs continue their march to 9th place!
  3. Faried has a TS% of 54% and scores 11.6 PPG on 9.3 FGA. Amir has a TS% of 60% and scores 9.4 PPG on 7 FGA. So now that we have established that Amir is the superior offensive player, Faried only gives you a few more rebounds per game. Now when you take into account Amir on one leg is still the far better defender, I really don't think its a question who the better player is for the team not even including the contract. And when you take into account Farried's contract he is not even a player I would want for free let alone someone you would have to give a pick to get. A Lowry/Derozan/Ross/Faried/JV lineup would be bottom 10 in defense and quite possibly worse. No chance of going anywhere in the playoffs with that.
  4. Blue Jackets signed Bobrovsky for 4 years 7.4 cap hit. Saw the score mobile alert on my phone and got excited cuz I saw the words "Blue ***** signed...." only for it to be hockey.
  5. Well I'm not saying Amir is an all star who is going to save the team. But you can definitely "compete" with him playing 25-28 mins a game. Obviously you wish he would be more consistent but he is not a problem on this team. I mean if you are getting good Amir for 75% of the time that is still better than what you are getting from JV, Ross and GV who seem to have a good game once in a while but still make terrible mistakes. I think if you rest him down the stretch you can get more out of him in the playoffs. I just don't see how you make the team better than it is with Amir on the floor? Like what 4 can the Raptors acquire than will give you more than what Amir does for the team? I just don't see one available..
  6. Your bias of letting a few games dictate your overall though of the player is really evident. I agree he has games where he just "doesn't have it" but his help and rotation defense is crucial to the team's success on that end of the floor. He's not flashy but he is still a really effective player and very efficient on the offensive end. If he doesn't have a good game here or there in the RS so be it, but he is exactly the guy you want and need in the playoffs. I mean Raps would of had no shot in game 7 last year if it weren't for Amir.
  7. Also if you go to 54 min Koreen says exactly what I've been saying about Amir. Guy is criminally underrated by even Raptors fans.
  8. But really its either Lou or GV getting the shots on the 2nd unit. You aren't going to run anything for Psycho T and you can only run so many JJ post ups.
  9. He sounds like Perez Hilton or whoever that TMZ guy is.
  10. Zach Lowe talked Raps on his latest podcast starts around the 36 min mark. Unfortunately he has Eric Koreen on whose voice might be the most annoying you will ever listen to in your life. http://espn.go.com/espnradio/grantland/player?id=12139761
  11. Add in that Lowry has been bad over this last stretch and its honestly not really a surprise that we have lost 4 in a row. He clearly is worn down from having to do too much. The bad part is GV for the most part has been terrible so you can't really get away with giving Lowry extended breaks. Peole s*** on Casey for his Lowry-GV-Lou lineups but he's clearly doing it to try and give Lowry other guys that can handle the ball and take pressure off him on offence. When you have Lowry-Ross-JJ on the floor, Lowry has the ball in his hands for 90% of the possessions which clearly has taken a toll.
  12. Im just saying why they didn't draft him, it was BC after all lets not forget... Wasn't Ross better defensively last season? He's taken a step back this year obviously but he had a reputation for being good on that end of the floor. I didn't get to watch many games last year cuz of work so just asking.
  13. They just drafted JV the year before so they weren't going to take another C. Drummond is the only guy taken in the next 10 picks that is better than Ross. This isn't like we drafted Rafeal Arujo over Igudola..
  14. That MM signing was honestly one of the worst I've ever seen. Guy plays like crap for the whole season yet they pay him 12 million. Same with Phillips. I don't know if I'd want Spezza on his current contract so for me the problem was not dealing him when he had a ton of value at the time he asked to be traded before. I kinda hope the losses pile up the next few games so the Sens have to sell at the deadline. 8 points out of a spot now means there is no chance but a few more points wouldn't hurt. I'd see if they can get get anything of value or even take a larger expiring contract for Michalek, Phillips and Neil. If they can get a 1st and a B prospect for Anderson I'd move him too. Im just scared Murray will try and do something because he won't be around for next year.
  15. If he isn't worth his paycheque he is a negative so I don't see how they won that trade when all of those guys would be off the books anyway.
  16. They are a number 1 C and a couple top 4 defenceman from being a legit contender. If they just got rid of all the crap like Greening, Michalek, Legwand, Neil, Smith, Phillips they would be a low playoff team quite possibly.
  17. I just put them there cuz they didn't really have anything else. You even forgot Zibby and Stone on your list. I don't think its even close which one is better tbh and Im not being a Sens homer.
  18. Tony Allen is an elite defender. I honestly just feel bad about MKG that he didn't get good coaching when he was younger cuz if he did have a good shot he would be a ton better. I'll admit I didn't realize he was that young.
  19. If we are talking about players the Sens easily have the better core to me. That said Ottawa's owner is a moron and the MLSE at least spends to the cap. Ottawa Forwards Turris Ryan Zibanejad Stone Hoffman Lazar Defence Karlsson Ceci Cowen Wiercioch Goalies Anderson Lehner Toronto Forwards Kessel JVR Kadri Lupul Nylander Defence Phaneuf Gardiner Reilly Percy? Goalies Bernier Reimer Karlsson and Turris are also on steals of contracts while JVR is really the only great contract for the Leafs.
  20. Makes up for your Jeff Skinner pick.
  21. This is the best year you can have to lose. Moving forward I'll take their core over the Leafs any day.
  22. a 3 that can't shoot is pretty useless unless you are very good in other areas which he isn't. Ross has a lot more value than MKG around the league.
  23. Yeah I could see why they moved Bishop but there is no excuse for moving him for that return. Conacher was so underwhelming and obviously put up numberss for a short time because of Stamkos.
  24. I don't think Ross was a bad pick at 8. Hes better than MKG, Waiters and Robinson who were all drafted ahead of him. Lol Austin Rivers at 10 is a joke. He was never even good.
