  1. Well that is exactly what I was asking if you read my post.
  2. Yeah the thing I like that I have seen is that he doesn't seem to force a lot of shots. Being on such a bad team he could chuck if he wanted to but seems to pass if it isn't there. I just hope he gets good coaching while he is young to try to steer him in to a James Harden type rather than a Kobe type.
  3. Why we're debating this what is everyones top 5 organizations in sports? (Big 4) 1. Spurs 2. Patriots 3. Red Wings 4. St Louis Cardinals 5. LA Kings
  4. holy f*** say why you think he has a high basketball IQ then...
  5. Thats so crazy when you think about it.
  6. Well obviously but from what I have watched I haven't really seen anything that makes him look like he has a huge basketball IQ. He still makes rookie mistakes like bad passes and stuff like that so thats why I was wondering what he saw in him.
  7. Curious what makes you think he has a really good basketball IQ? I admit I have only watched him a handful of times in game action this year but in those games I didn't see anything that made me think he was that smart of a player. He settles for a lot mid range jumpers to me it seems.
  8. Im saying doing that while drafting late round talent in the first 2 rounds makes it a wash.
  9. Stall Tactics trades Gardiner + Ekholm + 2nd round pick (BTS) to Abomination for Markov + Hjalmarsson + 2nd round pick.
  10. You know the drafting has been awful when you are getting excited about a 7th round pick. Even if he has say 2nd round talent they drafted Gauthier in the 1st round who has 3rd line upside.
  11. Yeah Wiggins is really encouraging especially for how young he is. Only thing I worry about is he will develop bad habits playing for that s***** T Wolves team. Like the rest of the Twolves he takes a few long 2s that are unnecessary. If he can develop his ball handling he will be a terror since his first step is as good as anyone. Isn't he like 7 years away from being a FA though? KD to Toronto is probably more realistic than Wiggins.
  12. Jake Gardiner is available for anyone looking for a young D man with upside. Looking for an upgrade in the short term. Can trade picks as well to sweeten the deal.
  13. "Don't listen to the haters, the contested long 2 is a great shot to take"- Kobe I'm interested to see how Derozan plays when he gets back. I really hope he isn't afraid or timid to drive to the rim after the injury. Thats the most valuable thing he does and something he should do even more instead of settling for jumpers.
  14. Add Trading two top 10 picks which turned out to be Seguin and Dougie Hamilton for Kessel. The drafting in the Burke era was also Oilers-esque. Edit: Actually looked it up and its worse than I thought. Here are the top 3 round picks since the 2008 2008 1 Luke Schenn 2 Jimmy Hayes 2009 1 Kadri 2 Kenny Ryan 2 Jesse Blacker 3 Jamie Devane 2010 2 Brad Ross 3 Greg Mckegg 3 Sondre Olden 2011 1 Tyler Biggs 1 Stuart Percy 3 Josh Leivo 2012 1 Morgan Reily 2 Matt Finn 2013 1 Fredrik Gauthier 3 Carter Verhaeghe Kadri and Reily seems like the only long term assets from 6 drafts (Also both were top 10 picks). And if you are wondering about if any picks from the 3rd round to 7th turned into anything Jerry D'Amigo is the only one to play more than 20 games in the NHL and he played 22...
  15. The reason guys leave places all the time: Money. That said I don't see Babcock coming to Toronto.
  16. Watched the first half of that game then decided to do something else. I don't know if it was much of the same in the 2nd half but the Twolves shot selection was just awful to watch. Seemed like all they would run were postups and if they couldn't get them the ball they would jack up a long 2. Wiggins looked good from what I saw. f***in ESPN's colour analyst called him Anthony Wiggins and then was complaining about the floor being wet cuz of an NHL game even though the Wild don't play in the same arena.
  17. Bozak sucks lol. The funny thing is that Kessel is getting killed in the media mostly because of Bozak.
  18. Kadri would be the much better choice and I think most people would agree. Kadri isn't a 1st line C but he is the best one they have.
  19. Waronice is pretty much what Extra Skater was and tracks all that stuff. Really fun site.
  20. obviously theres more factors than that but if your team routinely outshoots and gets more scoring chances than your opponent then you are going to win more hockey games.
  21. Scoring chances for and against correlate to goals more than Corsi does but you got the right idea. Here is a good article about what the Leafs need http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/leafs-beat/mirtle-how-to-fix-the-maple-leafs-a-de-build-or-a-teardown/article22328317/ Funny enough as a Sens fan you could almost say that is exactly what the Sens need to do. Luckily Sens have much better pieces than the Leafs. s***** thing is we have the worst owner in the NHL.
  22. Exactly, so they don't have 80 million committed next year. Denver is still in a better situation than a lot of teams in the NBA.
  23. Patterson doesn't get much shots because he doesn't force anything. Defenses aren't leaving him open anymore because he has shown he can make shots which opens the floor up for guys like Lowry and Demar who like to drive to the rim. You are criminally underrating Amir. He is allowing opponenets to shoot 3.9% worse than their average from less than 6 feet and it was 5.6% last year. The team's DEF RTG with him on the floor is 103.2, off the floor it is 106.7 http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/101161/tracking/defense/?Season=2013-14 Denver for comparison is giving up 106.5 PTS/100 posessions with Faried on the floor and 103 with him off the floor. His rim protection hasn't been bad this year with opponents 1.9% worse than their average but still is much worse than Amir while he is also a much less efficient offensive player than Amir. When you look at all that info including contract and health it is clear to me Amir even at 80% is the much better player and fit for the team.
  24. Doesn't he have a NTC? Side note-Apparently Delow moved back to Toronto and isn't a part of hockey operations with the Oilers anymore.
  25. Faried isn't any better than Patterson defensively. Hes a fantastic rebounder but his actual defense isn't that good. And when you think of how many drives to the rim is allowed by the likes of GV/Lou/Ross/Lowry then I don't think it is a good fit. That is why i like Amir so much for this team because he is a great help defender and offers decent rim protection.
