    He has TS% of .518% so whether he makes mid range shots or not he is inefficient offensively. Not to mention he is only going to play 15-18 mins/game with this team since he is the 4th best big and that is someone who is not going to improve the team enough to make it worthwhile. Honestly JJ at the 4 is probably better anyways.

    If he was a smart player he wouldn't take a s*** ton of mid range jumpers as a PF..Even if Ross isn't playing well he is still an asset. Ill take my chances with getting a FA over a minimal upgrade on the bench.

    Same especially if a team has a couple star players. Like if Trout gets hurt the Angels are doomed.

    In 2012 Syndergaard was a lot better than Castro was now (2015). I don't think Castro had a better FB, change or breaking ball than Syndergaard...

    so the reported deal fell through or what? Don't the teams not let players go to anymore showcases if they agree to a predeadline deal?

    They play so many back to backs and 4 games in 5 nights they wanted an extended break.

    How is Noah Syndergaard like Miguel Castro? Sure they both have great fastballs but Syndergaard's secondaries have always been better and you have to compare their seasons from when Syndergaard was just finishing SS ball.

    Because he is old, not that great of a defender anymore, makes 12.6 million this year and next, and no matter if the wings pass or not will still find a way to shoot his shots. Add in the fact that you have to give up an asset to get a guy who is only going to play max 20 min/game and I don't think its a worthwhile trade.

    I think David West would be a terrible fit for the team. He takes a lot of mid range jumpers as a bigman and thats the last thing I want to see for this offence. Basically Demar Derozan in a PF body.

    The fastball is really good and might be a 65 pitch. But from everything I've read the slider is slurvy and isn't anywhere close to "filthy". Pitchers who haven't pitched much above SS ball and have one great pitch with below average secondaries aren't going to be too high on prospect lists, its just the way it is.

    They are also more advanced/have better stuff than Castro. Kiley answered in the chat that the reason Castro didn't make it was because of starter/reliever questions anyways.

    If Stroman was prospect eligible where do you think he is on the list? Considering Urias is 4th and the number one pitcher on the list I'd have to think Stro would be ahead of him.

    Not if people think he's a reliever long term. With the exception of maybe Reid-Foley there isn't a Jays prospect in the top 200 I'd put behind Castro.
