  1. Svedberg is available. Looking for a solid upgrade on F or D for this season and the future.
  2. Yeah I knew I was taking a big hit in future value with Kunitz probably only having a couple years left and Saad being 22. This gives me a big upgrade to my current team for this year that I think (and hopefully) will be worth it.
  3. Okay thanks for telling me. Not a huge deal. In before Kunitz scores 4 goals and gets 10 hits.
  4. confirmed. If a MOD can put this through as quickly as possible that would be great. Kunitz plays tonight so if he could be in my lineup that would be awesome! I'll drop Methot to complete the trade.
  5. Well even if thats the case you still pick up the option. There are many teams who would trade an asset for Dickey at 12 million. Even then I like the durable 200 innings and stability he provides. If you believe in the Dickey effect he is worth over 3 Wins per season which for 12 million on a one year contract is a huge bargain.
  6. Club option next year should be picked up if he has a similar season this year to the last 2.
  7. https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/eh-game/the-great-canadian-ratings-report--libel-notice-aside--tsn-ran-the-board-on-nhl-trade-deadline-day-223409904-spt.html This puts it into perspective of how much Canadians like Curling more than Basketball. Almost 3 times the viewers and it wasn't even a Curling final.
  8. I think WAR overrates Reyes as his defense is probably a lot worse than UZR says it is. If you went by DRS instead of UZR last year for instance Reyes loses a win of value. Don't get me wrong I still think Reyes is a good player but his defense last year was just awful. Even the small things like catching relay throws and SB attempts he was just terrible, which do add up.
  9. Holy s*** Westbrook is just a freak...
  10. Ill start off by saying SSS alert but with Stro it is a small sample no matter how you look at it. In June it took him 497 pitches for 30.1 IP while in September it took him 426 pitches to go 31 IP so when he says he is a more efficient pitcher allowing him to go deeper into games with the sinker he is right. Now the other thing to this is he only walked 3 batters in those 31 Innings in SEP so the command (sinker especially) probably has more of a correlation with the low pitch counts than the strikeouts do.
  11. Was looking so good heading into the 3rd with Anderson having a SO. 4 goals later and I lose GAA and Sv %. At least I got the W to give the Wins cat.
  12. As a Colts fan I can tell you firsthand how much I hate trading assets for RBs...I hate the Trent trade at the time and I hate it even more now.
  13. Pretty sure Stroman's new approach is similar and has said as much in interviews that early groundouts helps him go deeper into games instead of using 100 pitches to go 5-6 innings while striking out more guys. The good thing is that when his sinker is located down in the zone there really isn't much the hitter can do but hit it into the ground anyways which he will happily take in the first few pitches of the AB. When he gets to 2 strikes he is also trying to strike the batter out and has the stuff to do it which helps too.
  14. Sidall is soooo much better than Tabler. I think the Jays broadcast team would be better than average overall with Buck and Joe in the booth.
  15. The Craig Anderson trade I made has been massive for me. Obviously Nichushkin got a freak injury but I'd be nowhere without the deal.
  16. Devils are complete s*** but Schneider is so good that it doesn't matter too much. Makes up for the wins with being elite in the other cats especially Saves with goaltending is so hard to find.
  17. Brock Nelson might be my best FA pickup and that was already getting lucky with Tanguay and Daley.
  18. Cory Schneider in 6th! I remember someone criticizing my pick at the draft saying he was the 15th best goalie.
  19. The guy really does seem to love baseball though. Maybe if he deals with some injuries he retires when he's 30 but if he is a good player I can see him pitching for a long time.
  20. I see Casey went full on retard this game. JV looks like he has really improved yet doesn't play in the 4th...
  21. No love for Tolchinsky who is killing it in the OHL??? haha jk man
  22. If the Jays can get 5-10 years out of him as an average starter I would consider that to be a pretty big success.
  23. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/story/daniel-norris-blue-jays-toronto-pitcher-van-river-030615?adbsc=mlb_b41696766&adbid=574011688556457984&adbpl=tw&adbpr=22819823 Another story about Norris but I found this part interesting. I've always thought this myself after reading minor leaguers are given peanut butter sandwiches etc..before games. Have there been any teams out there who have hired gourmet chefs to cook for players both Major and Minor leagues? Seems like it would cost barely anything and have a real benefit to performance.
  24. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/young-blue-jays-pitcher-marcus-stroman-embracing-emotion-of-bittersweet-day-202050663.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Another article about one of our pitchers. Yay!
  25. Shouldn't make a difference. There are better players who fit the role he would provide. Tolleson is an average at best fielder who is a bad hitter and one that is completely useless vs RHP.
