  1. That can't be Scherzer's actual pickoff move can it?
  2. Scerzer with an amazing ab
  3. funniest part is it should of been a walk..
  4. Reyes plate discipline is scary. On a steep decline the last few years. You hope the over 40% Ozone Swing % is just SSS and not a trend.
  5. Scherzer can pitch. You could tell he threw fastball when Collabello was thinking off speed and slider when he was thinking fastball.
  6. I think Warriors kills the Cavs. They're a much better team and have the edge in coaching as well.
  7. I doubt the Marlins are going to give Cishek away. The guy was dominant the last 2 years.
  8. Did this in the NHL thread too, lets post predictions. I'll go Warriors in 5.
  9. Alright lets post predictions. Blackhawks in 7
  10. I'd rather just move Osuna to closer to save his arm since the workload is less. That lets Cecil get more high leverage innings and use Hendricks as your RH late inning reliever. Cecil, Delabar, Hendricks in the 7th/8th with Loup facing only LHH and Osuna in the 9th is fine. What this team needs is a Starting Pitcher and CF, one hits LH preferably.
  11. For all of the people saying the OF is s*** and has been costing the team games, they haven't really. The "crap" OF replacements have actually produced even though they are bad players. Collabello and Carrera have 0.7 fWAR, and Valencia has been worst half a win as well. There is no doubt these players are replacement level but they have produced at an above average clip while in the OF which is more than what Goins has done in the IF.
  12. Exactly. Jeter made so much money for the Yankees and is a legend in NY. If you ask the average Jays fan they probably hate Reyes more than like him. I mean Arod moved positions, even guys like Nomar and Ripken moved off SS and they had better careers than Reyes. If a player is going to help you win games at a different position the player shouldn't have a choice. I could see Reyes being mad if he was a FA at the end of the season but the guy is already set up financially for the rest of his career.
  13. Might actually be better for the Jays as if Dickey starts the first game you would hope the Knuckle effect is larger on games played in the same day. Of course if Dickey is throwing BP and doesn't get out of the 3rd inning its a moot point.
  14. Also there's nothing I hate more when people say Reyes decides where he plays. Derek Jeter I understand because he is a HOF who only ever played with the Yankees. The Blue Jays owe Reyes 22 million per season until the end of 2017, not anything else. If he played his entire career in Toronto I would say it would be different but if the Jays think he should move to CF (not actually just using it as an example) then he should have to do it. If not, then he can sit at home and not get his salary.
  15. I'm not sure he would be worse at 2B because with his arm he could afford to play deeper than the average 2B. With Travis though you can't really do anything besides throw Reyes out at SS and hope he doesn't cost you the game in a crucial moment. I think if Goins and Reyes are starting a particular game though your team is better defensively with Reyes at 2B and Goins at SS. More balls are hit to SS on average so I would think the team would be better than way.
  16. lol I thought we would be useful until I looked him up. Can't believe how good he was from 2005-2008. Injuries killed his career, kinda sad.
  17. Dalton Pompey batting 8th for Buffalo. Is his confidence that bad?
  18. Well he has the best stats in the AL by all the old school and saber numbers so it isn't that surprising. Also hitting all these "clutch" HRs probably get him some extra votes as well.
  19. In the article he uses Hanley as an example. Hanley has the Worst DRS of any player in 2015 and has been worse than replacement level while sporting a 114wRC+. Reyes would most likely be terrible in LF. What makes him bad at SS is his range/instincts which would probably be the case in LF as well, not to mention the increased injury risk of Reyes running around on turf half the time. I'd rather Reyes be at 2B when Goins is in the lineup but thats about it.
  20. I'd be okay trading for Norris but I wouldn't do it for a bullpen arm. Chapman might be the only guy I'd do it for and even that it'd be tough. But a dominant Closer is not a need for this team. I mean hasn't Cecil only gotten like 2 Save opportunities in the last month anyway? Move Osuna to closer and Cecil back to being a high leverage reliever would seem to be a better move. You save Osuna's arm more and get more opportunities for your best relief pitcher. Then trade Norris for a starter/outfielder.
  21. Another factor are hte infielders good at tagging baserunners. Reyes in his 3 years here seems to have a lot of trouble but Goins and Travis in SSS have looked really good at tagging baserunners. Over a large enough sample CS% will show who are the better catchers at throwing out baserunners but it might just be easier using catcher's pop times and factoring in how accurate their throws are. It takes a lot of the other factors out.
