    Pompey with a HR for NH. Nice to see him hitting for power even if the BB/K aren't great. With Pillar playing solid CF there isn't much of a need when Saunders comes back so no need to rush him.

    I doubt that. They will charge what the market dictates which will be lower than Leafs tickets but not by much.

    Anthony Gose with a 85wRC+ on a .367 BABIP. Now obviously we still don't know exactly how good Travis will be but that trade looks pretty damn good right now. People criticize AA all the time on the board but he is a leading candadite for GM of the year if the Jays make the playoffs. Almost all of his moves in the offseason have worked out significantly. Happ for Saunders has been the only one that hasn't and that really isn't on AA as Saunders got hurt by a fluke injury. Extra year of control as well.

    One thing is for sure Bucholz would be annoying to watch pitch. He takes 30 seconds between every pitch which is incredibly frustrating to watch. Theres no way the Red Sox will trade him to the Jays though. Their front office isn't dumb and won't trade him for anything less than a huge return.

    The platoon split would barely come into play with this lineup though since they face such few LHP.

    I think EE gets it in the next couple weeks IIRC. 90% sure its before the trade deadline. I'd be in favour of trading EE for a #1/2 starter though. His position really kills his value.

    In his pro debut last night 7th round pick Travis Bergen struck out 8 guys in 3 IP for Vancouver. Didn't give up a hit and walked 1.

    I agree. Its not like I think Hoffman won't ever be successful, just that he hasn't been successful so far and it is a little concerning. Kiley's posts are interesting to hear but I'm not sure why the Jays would tell him to "pitch to contact" because ultimately that strategy won't be successful. Seems Kiley doesn't like what the Jays are doing to his delivery either.

    Norris always struck guys out though. Hoffman had a K rate of 13% before striking out 2 guys in 5 innings last night. The way I think of it is even if you aren't commanding your fastball, guys are still going to swing and miss at it. That hasn't happened yet for a guy who's been reportedly throwing 94-97.

    But if he's at his velocity that he was pre surgery and still isn't striking anyone out thats almost just as bad because it means his stuff isn't fooling anyone. Is there any evidence of a pitcher who came back from TJS and randomly doubled their K% while throwing with their same stuff and just better command?

    2 SO in 5 innings is the much more concerning thing. Hes going to give up lots of hits if he can't strike anyone out.

    I don't get the Martin sitting considering it would seem to be better to sit him Wednesday and give him 2 days off in a row. Navarro will catch 2/3 games this series.
