Most teams play exhibition games the last couple days before the season. Just this year the season opener is on Sunday instead of the Monday so it kind of screws it up.
Happ was the only pitcher that went on the trip anyway.
Fantastic article about Osuna detailing everything from his childhood to making the blue jays to El Chapo being captured blocks away from Osuna and the SN crew doing the story.

Yeah I think it'd be naive to say his command hasn't improved a great deal. I mean last year he walked 10 guys in around 10 Innings in ST and he's always walked a ton of guys in the minors as a starter. For him to only walk 3 guys in 26 Innings is ridiculous.
This FG post from today seems relevant http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2015-starting-pitcher-ball-in-play-retrospective-al-east/
When taking into account balls in play Dickey's ERA was exactly as it should have been. Using FG FIP based WAR is useless for Dickey because of the knuckleball.
Interesting that then number 1 starter in the AL East last year by Tru ERA was our very own Marco Estrada.
I can second this. I'll get a fastball up in the zone that I was sitting on only to foul it back and the PCI shows the ball in the middle of the circle with good timing.
Yet I'll throw a slider down and away to a RHH that gets pulled to LF 420 feet.
What does that have to do with payroll being higher? The Jays can let Jose and Edwin go to FA and replace them while raising payroll, thus having a better chance to win. The Jays aren't trading Jose, Edwin or Tulo since they have no trade clauses.
The team can still develop young talent while competing for a division at the MLB level. More payroll flexibility allows the team a better chance of winning. I'm not sure what you are saying?
Are you saying you would rather have a $120 Million payroll than 160? If the Jays have a really good season they should have the increased payroll flexibility regardless if EE and Bautista are back or not.
I really hope Rogers can up the payroll. If the team makes the postseason and the Canadian dollar stays where it is right now there should be a bump of at least $20 Million. If the team makes the postseason and payroll is still in the $140 range people will really be pissed and rightfully so.
