If Stro can continue to command the sinker at the bottom of the zone tonight its going to be a quick game. Doesn't seem to have control of the change but slider has looked good.
Not to mention he let a 1st pitch floating changeup down the middle go by and then a straight fastball near the bottom of the zone. Good result but the process was bad.
I don't think anyone on the team can guard Lebron. JJ might be the best option size wise but Lebron likely eats him alive. Powell doesn't have the size but he's probably who I would go with, at least he has the athleticism.
The sinkers are fine early in the count. When there is 2 strikes I'd like to see him elevate the 4 seam just to give the batter a different look and also change the eye level. Everything he throws now is down so I think the slider and change don't seem as effective.
Could also just be his breaking ball isn't as good as it was in 2014.
Thole is a pretty good framer and probably not that much worse than Kratz but because of the knuckleball he gets screwed on calls.
Edit: Meant this as a reply for Spanky above.
Fantastic article in SI about Shapiro and the high performance team as well as about sports science in general around baseball. This is probably my favourite thing Shapiro has done since being hired. Really excited to see what the new ST facility will look like too.

Pretty good chance Thor isn't the same pitcher today if he didn't get traded to the Mets. I mean his best pitch he just started throwing this year.
I think we all knew it was a bad trade and Syndergaard would be a good pitcher but no expected him to be this good.
