  1. Before Hardy everything was down to every hitter. First 2 pitches looked like 4 seam up though which is a good sign.
  2. Everything is low. Thats why I think if you elevate the 4 seam even if its a ball will help change the hitters eye level and help his other pitches.
  3. If Stro can continue to command the sinker at the bottom of the zone tonight its going to be a quick game. Doesn't seem to have control of the change but slider has looked good.
  4. Not to mention he let a 1st pitch floating changeup down the middle go by and then a straight fastball near the bottom of the zone. Good result but the process was bad.
  5. like he should be murdering these pitches.
  6. Fantastic bat speed by Saunders. Impressive he pulled that inner pitch.
  7. Lol can't complain about the ump at all. Jays have gotten like an extra 6 or 7 strikes compared to the Os.
  8. I'd like to see the hitters be more aggressive the 2nd time through the order. This pitcher's stuff is terrible.
  9. Jose got crossed up looking for the slider. Those first 2 pitches were absolute meatballs down the middle that normally are crushed.
  10. Good matchup for Stro against a lot of RH bats. Small sample but his platoon splits have been massive this year.
  11. I don't think anyone on the team can guard Lebron. JJ might be the best option size wise but Lebron likely eats him alive. Powell doesn't have the size but he's probably who I would go with, at least he has the athleticism.
  12. The sinkers are fine early in the count. When there is 2 strikes I'd like to see him elevate the 4 seam just to give the batter a different look and also change the eye level. Everything he throws now is down so I think the slider and change don't seem as effective. Could also just be his breaking ball isn't as good as it was in 2014.
  13. Thole is a pretty good framer and probably not that much worse than Kratz but because of the knuckleball he gets screwed on calls. Edit: Meant this as a reply for Spanky above.
  14. Yeah Powell and Ppat should start. Way easier to manager their min that way too. If Ross is healthy Carroll probably shouldn't even see the floor.
  15. Fantastic article in SI about Shapiro and the high performance team as well as about sports science in general around baseball. This is probably my favourite thing Shapiro has done since being hired. Really excited to see what the new ST facility will look like too. http://www.si.com/mlb/2016/04/12/toronto-blue-jays-sports-science
  16. For sure, but it still is just 3 starts. Also you never want to see it but there's always going to be injury risks for a guy who throws this hard.
  17. He only started throwing his slider this year. He was good in the minors no doubt but now he looks like a top 3 pitcher in MLB. No one expected that.
  18. Pretty good chance Thor isn't the same pitcher today if he didn't get traded to the Mets. I mean his best pitch he just started throwing this year. I think we all knew it was a bad trade and Syndergaard would be a good pitcher but no expected him to be this good.
