Lol come on. If you were so obsessed with Stroman I wouldn't say s***. I just find it funny you have made it your life mission to go on and on and on and on about him.
I don't see what you don't get.
If you sign a player to a 5 year contract and its worth 20 million per year with an opt out after 2 years. If he puts up 10 WAR the first 2 years its not a good thing he opts out because the production you lose is worth more than the 3 years and 60 million left on the contract.
Also if you sign a similar contract and the player is horrible say Pablo Sandoval for example. Well then you just wasted 100 million because he isn't opting out.
He threw only 20 sinkers last start. Please expand on this joint confusion concept? And without using Pat Tabler since he is one of the worst analysts in baseball.
Speaking of ownership if they raise the payroll into the 175 range I think management would look into signing 1 of the 2 more seriously.
Jays are selling out weekday games and TV ratings are close to 1 million/night. Rogers is cashing in like crazy.
Ross Atkins says Stroman has done everything they have told him. How is that being stubborn if he's doing what the FO and coaching staff wants?
All players have egos anyways if that is more what you are getting at. Donaldson and Bautista have 2 of the biggest egos in the sport and thats part of what make them so successful.
They explored signing him long term last offseason and didn't. His value has really only gone up since then so I don't expect them to all of a sudden chance their minds and sign him to a 6-8 year deal.
From the player's point of view unless they are going to shell out market value there isn't much reason to sign a long term deal either. He's already received life changing money and will be 2 years from FA.
Doesn't say they feel comfortable about signing Saunders at all. The context is for trading Bautista this year and he's saying that because of Saunders breakout they could handle trading Bautista and still compete for the division (I don't personally agree with what he's saying).
Plus Sherman really has no better idea about the Blue Jays plans than anyone else.
The mouthpieces are for strength. Bautista and a bunch of Jays players use them. Cecil uses one to get more velocity.
When your teeth is clenched you can get a little more strength.
