  1. Please stop using the word henchmen. Thanks.
  2. Apparently this draft is the best one in the last 10 years. Nice that the Raps have two First round picks even though they are at the back end. Would have been sweet to trade last years top 10 for a similar pick this year.
  3. My bet guess is they just simply were doing a PR move to look like they tried to sign him. They could get a player in Bautista who is projected to be better and in a position of need and are choosing not to because of the draft pick.
  4. The part I find funny is that if they had a 4/80 evaluation on him and you could get him for 3/60 why does Smoak's $8 Million total value get in the way of that. You are saving more than Smoak's contract on resigning the player that you wanted in the first place lol.
  5. I don't think its a coincidence Shi reports this after his Agent says Toronto could have signed him for less $. Seems the Jays FO and Edwin/his Agent are in a f***ing PR battle to try to make the other party look worse. Its done lets just move forward with our lives.
  6. Yeah forgot about them. Looking at the projections LAA is up there too but I can't see them being that good.
  7. It'd be nice to get both. I think Moss would be better vs RHP taking defense into consideration as well but Saunders can be a lot better vs LHP than Moss.
  8. I think thats a good scenario. Perhaps you can add a win from the Sports Science dept over the course of a season too with injury prevention, sleep etc.. I'll take my chances of a playoff spot with 2 teams making it out of NYY, TEX, DET and TOR.
  9. Moss seems like a perfect fit to platoon with Upton. But even if he is your only signing you would need to sign another platoon OF or RH 1st Baseman so Smoak isn't hitting vs LHP. If you get Saunders I guess you could play him everyday but there's a lot of injury risk on the roster with not much depth. It is frustrating because of how good the core is.
  10. Unless you play Pearce in the OF vs RHP but thats a pretty big risk there too given his injury history + that would mean Smoak everyday. Reminds me of going into 2014 with Goins at 2nd base.
  11. Yeah exactly. They held on to him too long. SD did it with Ross too.
  12. I think you need 2 OFers. You can't talk about saying the goal is to be as good as possible and have 2 if Upton/Zeke/Smoak playing everyday.
  13. I said anymore... He had Rios too but like I said he doesn't have anymore big name contracts coming up. Maybe DeLeon but a lot has to go right there.
  14. I think the range is the more concerning aspect. The infield throwing motion is a little different than the outfield so he could likely get by. But with Donaldson here I don't know why you would even ask him to play 3rd when he would only get a few games there anyway.
  15. Thanks for the link. His client list still looks pretty meh. Castro got a nice sized contract but outside of that there isn't much $ there.
  16. I'd say they never even did a teardown. They should have traded everyone but instead held on to guys like Sonny Gray to try to catch lightning in a bottle with a true talent 80 win team.
  17. His clients have been shrinking to the point now where Jeff Mathis and Dustin McGowan are his highest paid clients outside of Edwin. http://www.baseballplayersalaries.com/agents/62_Paul_Kinzer
  18. Like Oakland will be pissed that he leaked this info. As an agent you don't go make public what other teams offered.
  19. I'm not sure it has benefited his client once either. Obvious he isn't going to get any more star players with how badly he has handled Edwin.
  20. I wonder how Shaprio/Atkins manage risk in years 3,4,5. Its understandable they are very risk averse as most newly brought in FO members are at first. But we saw the Indians last year with Miller and Oakland before that in Lester that FOs change their MO when in contention.
  21. So his Agent is terrible. Who the hell goes on radio to say this after he signed?
  22. HR factor of 95 for RH hitters.
  23. Well if Bautista signs for less than the QO or gets a team friendly 2/3 year contract fans would have more of a reason to be upset. He's projected to be the better player than Edwin and is a bigger franchise icon. Like you said the pick is worth lots if you can get suitable replacements but if the team spends say $10 Million on Saunders over Bautista to preserve the pick thats dumb. I think they make their mind up around the deadline on how to proceed. If they are in a wildcard spot they will do what they did last year, if not blow it up.
  24. Do people realize like 30% of the Jays Season Ticket base are brokers/sellers? Its not like there is 25K people shaking their fist saying "WE need Edwin". Fans should be more upset when/if the Jays don't sign Bautista.
