With Martin's age its probably best to just give him more full days off, unless he's in one of those super hot power streaks. Give Donaldson or Tulo more DH days instead.

Outside of an emergency injury during the game I can't see him playing 2nd. Atkins said it will be corner OF/1B. At 34 years old his range is going to be awful.

Its been proved the contract year doesn't improve performance. The extra motivation thing is mostly BS. I mean look at Bautista..

If you want to assign blame for backloading Martin's contract blame Rogers not AA. Rogers had a strict budget so they had to pay him that much in year 1 in order to sign him.

You could trade Bautista at the deadline and get a better prospect than a comp pick. I think people are overvaluing the draft pick at this point. You don't sign Morales and Pearce for $45 Million if you aren't planning to win.

TheScore had an article saying Sanchez or Stroman would be ideal targets for Pittsburgh (Take it this was him just floating ideas). But then there was the whole thing about Colorado and Blackmon and other rumblings about him. I hope its just dumb national media guys talking out of their ass but his name keeps popping up on more than just this board.

Whats with the Stroman rumours? I keep seeing them pop up but why would the Jays trade a cost controlled starter who had one of the best 2nd halves of anyone in baseball.
