  1. That's too bad, hopefully it's a fun family outing Yeah I'm a season ticket holder. I assume all ST holders get them.
  2. Hey everyone. I have 4 tickets for the season ticket holder "fan festival" which takes places this Sunday at the Rogers center. Basically you get to watch the game on the big screen, get some free food, get to go on the field, get some autographs from former Jays etc. I'm only using 2, so the other 2 are up for grabs. If you want them (and please only say you do if you know you can make it and will genuinely use them) then let me know. First one to post in here can have them. Some details about the event: The event will be held Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Rogers Centre from 12:00pm until the end of the Blue Jays Broadcast (approximately 4:30pm). • Enter through Gate 11 • Upon entry all guests will receive a voucher for lunch; the voucher includes a soft drink, a snack, and a choice of hamburger or hot dog (veggie dog available upon request). Please note that additional food and beverages (including alcohol) are not included, but will be available for purchase. • Expect a great day of fun and excitement for the entire family when you, our most valued fans, take over the stadium: o Watch the game on the giant videoboard o Play games, and have an opportunity for giveaway prizes courtesy of our in-game entertainment crew o Get a behind the scenes look at the Blue Jays dugout and bullpen o Run the bases and play catch on the major league field at Rogers Centre o Get autographs from Blue Jays Alumni (Kelly Gruber, Lloyd Moseby, Duane Ward and Jesse Barfield) o Enjoy inflatables, face painting and more!
  3. Reminds me of Lawrie doing that against the O's with Bautista at the plate. Idiotic.
  4. Hutch is pitching tonight
  5. The worst part of reading any of the O's fans reactions is them trying to claim it wasn't intentional. I called it at the start of that inning that Jose would get thrown at. You've got a team getting blown out and Bautista coming up after he manhandled O'Day the last time they tried to hit him. Bad blood already existed. It was the perfect situation for a team to throw at a guy since the game's already out of reach and Showalter is the exact type of manager to call for his pitcher to do that. There's about a 1% chance it wasn't intentional yet their fans try to claim Garcia had struggled with control all night and that's all it was. It's asinine.
  6. Did I miss something? Would have thought Thole would be called up for tonight.
  7. If you're a fan of the other team, then sure he comes off this way. If you follow the team and have followed the history behind yesterday then you understand his reaction. If I had a team constantly trying to throw at me then you better believe I would be pissed. As "old school" as Showalter might try to be there comes a time to understand that throwing at star players is just plain stupid. How many people have to get injured before MLB takes a hard stance on this BS. I have no problem with Bautista getting fired up, the Orioles have repeatedly gone after him and they then get mad because he "showboats" when he immediately responds by hitting a homerun? Get real - it's not like he would have done his ever-so offensive bat flip if he hit the homerun on the first pitch. They tried to hit him, they failed and he responded with a bomb. Damn straight he deserves to celebrate.
  8. No players that I've seen......Butterfield used to back in the day......
  9. I live right across the street so we would see from our window the lineups forming...and then head over accordinfly.....for bobblehead days if you're there by 1130/1145 you're fine. Noon is cutting it close. Last year the game that drew the largest lineups before the gates opened (11am) was the Eddy/Jose jersey giveaways. The lineups were insane.
  10. Why? You're not a Jays fan?
  11. You can exchange tickets through your account manager - up to 20 games. The seat selection varies though. I have premium dugout season seats and typically I can only exchange for field level infield seats in a worse row. However I'd rather have extra seats for a weekend game (especially if it's a promo game or against certain teams) in worse seats than be forced to use or try to sell a Wednesday game against a team no one cares about.
  12. Bauer with a no-no thru 6 innings but over 110 pitches thrown. That sucks.
  13. Kendall Graveman off to a shaky start and the defense isn't helping him either.
  14. I hate that I keep opening this every day in the hopes that there's actually discussion about Papelpon.
  15. Sorry? It's 170 batters faced. And he only has about 450 IPs total including the latest 50 when his control has been solid. So roughly 11% of his total IPs - which is the latest segment - he has has his control in check. It was a serious question. His command sucked, that's for sure, but when can we start to wonder if it still does?
  16. Curious how this works when a player "turns it around" over a significant sample size, but struggled in an area in the past. For example Russell Carleton has an article stating that 170 batters faced is considered a significant sample size for measuring a pitcher's walk rate. 51 innings would amount to over 170 batters faced. At what point does the most recent significant sample size become the most relevant?
  17. Fk I'm exciited to watch him. I am surrounded by people at work who criticize that trade and when Stroman went down it just added fuel to the fire. Praying he gives me some ammo to say "I told you so"
  18. Well at least we know his arm is durable.
  19. God I even get annoyed reading Wilner. It's the perfect storm with him - the content of what he's saying and the tone of his voice irritate the hell out of me.
  20. Well if we were talking about BB/9 then the conversation wouldn't really have any legs, Sanchez' minor league stats are terrible in that regard. Very few examples of quality pitchers with BB/9 around the 4 mark. But the original question I was responding to was about strikeouts.
  21. Reminds me of this read from last year: http://grantland.com/features/mark-buehrle-surprising-success/
  22. Yup. Fister, Porcello, Alvarez to name a few
  23. Oh my bad, you're right. Historically much higher though. Doesn't cause me alarm.
  24. >6.5 K/9 this spring isn't exactly not striking anyone out. Plenty of good starters with strikeout levels well below Sanchez.
