  1. If i was running Rogers I'd be happy to get rid of a president who looks like a pedophile....
  2. Just think about the Pirates and Joey Bats, or the Reds and EE. Sometimes they slip through
  3. I hope you mean Kenley and not Casey lol
  4. Ricky is still hoping
  5. what exactly would make MB a good pitching coach? I read somewhere he hasnt shaken off a pitch in 15 years.......what would his advice be? throw whatever the catcher calls.....at 80 MPH MB will be a dog trainer when he retires
  6. Ogando Id be all on board with, he is a giant and really commands the ball well when healthy, what kind of contract do you think he would get?
  7. This arguably seems to be the biggest area of need left for the Jays after AA went ninja style this off-season. Their are few options left that are established and could close for the Jays (Romo, Miller, K-Rod, Neshek, Soriano). I also wouldnt be opposed to bringing back Morrow in a relief role if its a 1 year deal. Anyone have idea's who the Jays should target to fill the bullpen?
  8. lester isnt coming to Toronto, his first choice would be atlanta considering he is from there, the jays would have to massively overpay and give 7 or 8 years which is against team policy....not happening
  9. so you are already funded yet you are still asking for money? hmmmmmmmmm
  10. u must mean best 3B in baseball, cause hes definitely not the best player in baseball
  11. I think come tomorrow this will be the concensus around the league
  12. need a bonafide starter before the Jays are a lock for playoffs. I expect Buehrle to take a huge step back this year....
  13. This just in, Red bull sales in Oakland just doubled.....
  14. wow, crazy deal. Lawrie and his red bull addiction injury proneness can hit the road
  15. Its funny, people bitched when the Jays sucked that they never signed players to make the team competitive. When the Jays finally are competitive, people bitch this team should be blown up. Same goes for Raps Leafs.....Why not enjoy the possibility that this team at least has a decent shot next year to make the playoffs?
  16. Did Markakis turn down his QO? or was it the Orioles who didnt offer it?
  17. The difference is negligible, and in some states, like New York, the tax rate is higher than in Ontario. Take the income taxes for affluent Ontarians and New Yorkers. With Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty’s 2% surtax for those earning more than $500,000, at the highest income bracket, Ontarians currently pay about 49.5% in provincial and federal taxes combined. New Yorkers, meanwhile, pay about 48% after taking into account a federal and state tax. (Those who live in New York City are subject to an additional city tax which would bring taxes closer to about 51%. http://business.financialpost.com/2013/01/04/will-higher-tax-rates-abroad-have-millionaires-knocking-on-canadas-door/
  18. taxes arent really that big of a difference for most states (florida excluded), it has more to do with the perception of Canada some americans have. Eskimos and igloo's. http://www.investopedia.com/financial-edge/0411/do-canadians-really-pay-more-taxes-than-americans.aspx Braves are probably going to rebuild with their young core, and Upton is not included. Jason Heyward and Evan Gattis are also available but will cost pitching prospects as the Braves system is sorely lacking high end pitching talent.
  19. Who knows, maybe Miggy teaches Gose a thing or two about hitting and the Jays regret this trade in a few years
  20. thats what they did with yan gomes.....they sould wait a bit
  21. A manager really needs to have the balls to fill out a line-up card without worrying how it will effect a players ego, one of a few things Gibbons seems to lack. I can name a 100 managers that would of had Reyes playing 2nd base right out of spring training with the same roster, and I'm positive AA isn't blameless in this ridiculous decision either, to run out a tandem of Jose Reyes and Ryan Goins at SS and 2nd respectively. If Goins is out there with Reyes, their shouldn't be any question as to who starts at SS. Reyes ins't unmovable, but he's damn near close with his salary (22M), so him starting at 2nd next year is really the only viable option for the Jays. 2015 free-agent shortstops (option) Mike Aviles * Asdrubal Cabrera Stephen Drew Alex Gonzalez J.J. Hardy Jed Lowrie John McDonald Hiroyuki Nakajima * Hanley Ramirez Jimmy Rollins * Not a whole lot to work with on the FA market, so I'm thinking hope for a trade to net some defensive quality at the SS position, or writhe in pain at the prospect of Jose Reyes fielding grounders on the left side of the infield if Gibbons is still in charge next year.
  22. Good read, thanks!
  23. I wonder where reyes would sit on that list if you used projected war for the SS's that missed significant time. Alas, I'm to lazy to go data hunting......Jfas?
  24. not to many fans of moogy on this site either is there
