  1. It's the 83 wRC+ he put last year that scares me
  2. And at 25 he slashed .252/.298/.340 and has been trending downward since '22. I get he could turn it around, the ability is there but there's a chance that we are going to be paying John McDonald 23M a year soon. There's risk there and it's not like we have the offence to fall back on if he keeps trending the way he is
  3. We plan on winning every game 2-1 in 57 mins
  4. His luxury tax hit is $15M. He makes 10M this year, 15 next year and then 23M the last three years. I mean, if he gets back to his 2022 performance it's a steal. Would of rathered got an elite defensive SS and moved Bo to second
  5. I would hope Bo would go for more then Giminez
  6. We certainly love guys who can't hit worth a f***
  7. Lottery already happened. We pick 8
  8. We get the 7th overall pick in the draft
  9. That's alright, we'll land Ethan Holliday this evening.
  10. I guess it's not the AAV I'm worried about more term. I hope they don't hand him a 10-13 years. I'd be fine with a 7 year deal in the 230M-245M range.
  11. Thats a tad dramatic, it would suck but it wouldn't be franchise crippling
  12. I'm not sure if Betts is a great comp either, he plays a premium position(s) and has been more consistent than Vlad. I am fine with keeping Vlad and trying to build around him but its going to be tough. We essentially need a whole new BP along with a 3B at least one SP and corner OF. Its going to be a tough road ahead to make this team a competitor. Vlad could have brought back a major haul and if they ended up trading him the white towel would have been waved which means Gausman and Bassitt would both probably would be gone as well. Ownership wouldn't ok a complete tear down, so its moot, I just hope they don't hand him a $300M deal.
  13. Fully agree. Theres no real path for this team to be a competitor next year, IMO. We are going to need a full BP, A power hitting corner OF, a third baseman, a catcher and at least one SP. Thats a tall task when your top spec is out with TJ surgery and the second best is a PED user. I really can't see it.
  14. Those stats are a bit misleading, though. His OPS by month: April - .461 May - .699 June - .893 July .910 wRC+ April - 5 May - 104 June - 163 July - 160 You shouldn't discount what he brings to the table
  15. Trading him right now would be dumb. He's had a terrible season and he's hurt. They wouldn't get close to fair market value for him. An off season trade seems far fetched now, too. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  16. I don't normally agree with you but this is correct. The drafting and/or development done by this management has left a lot to be desired. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  17. Yeah I was high when I posted that lol. Either way it's a s*** farm, our top prospect has a glass elbow and and our second best prospect is suspended for the rest of the season. Some wave of talent Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  18. MLB Pipeline has us as the 30th best farm system. I was really hoping this regime would have been better at drafting and developing. Major changes should be coming to both those departments as well...very depressing Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  19. Pelfrey got banned lol. Was it a perma? Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  20. Wilko should be banned Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  21. Id say Camminiti fell because he had a deal with the Braves and told other teams he wasn't signing Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  22. Fixed that for you Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  23. Gross Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
  24. That's fair and I probably overstepped on the bloated contracts aspect. Again, my critique of AAs time here isn't any sort of vote of confidence for Atkins. I do believe AA would have signed Bautista and EE to contracts but that's a different kettle of fish. I would have no problem if AA was retained but leading up to '15 trade deadline I'm pretty sure his tenure was ~.500 and I do get he didn't inherit much but I feel that sometimes people look at his tenure here with rose coloured glasses. I agree completely with your last sentence, it's a mixed bag and feel that unless we win a playoff series or two the pressure to fire Atkins will be too great to resist. 25. Like I said, he was pretty mediocre leading up to that '15 season. Did you see any longevity in the roster he constructed past maybe the 2016 season? We had a line up of guys well on the wrong side of 30 and some who were looking for pay days. We were the best team in baseball for one season and one season only. Thwre was no future in that roster. Sure it was fun but.it was going to crash whether he was there or not. Of course I don't see it happening any time soon, my criticism of AA while he was here has nothing to do with the current FO. As far as I'm concerned, Atkins is run of the mill. One saving grace is that his successor isn't going to be hamstrung by long term contracts Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
