  1. Ok, enough Gibby bashing for me. Let's do this. Time to end the drought.
  2. I'm interested to see how Tanaka looks. The worse he looks, the better, obviously.
  3. Naturally the game where we are scheduled the face a lefty will get rained out.
  4. I agree with you. Gibbons is terrible. However, even fans knew he had a love affair with Navarro. I would think the GM would take that option away from him rather than risk the manager using his bias to potentially cost the team runs/wins. There is no benefit to having Navarro as back-up catcher. He can't catch and can't hit if he's playing anywhere else. Take that option away from Gibbons and he would have smartened up by default. Either that or fire Gibbons and hire someone who has a clue. This is a guy who played Francisco at 3b, Edwin in LF, and so on. He doesn't know s***.
  5. Have to blame AA on this one. All he had to do was dump Navarro and use Thole as the back-up catcher, and this would have never happened. Can't expect Gibby to change.
  6. No, Farrell was bad too, but he was a first time manager learning the ropes and even then I think he's a better option than Gibbons. I don't get the hype with Gibbons. What is so good about him? At least Farrell came from a player development background. I'd trust him managing a team way before I trust Elmer Fudd.
  7. Lol. Never change, Wilner. There is no defending this move. Edwin sucks at 1B, Navarro can't hit righties. This is Gibbons playing his favorites over trying to help the team win. Nothing more to see.
  8. Better than Buck, sure. I'd take everyone else over him, though. Even Farrell.
  9. Gibbons is managing a MLB team. When that reality sets in, expect the worst and hope for the best. That's all you can do.
  10. I was so pumped for Opening Day. Navarro's name in the lineup is such a buzzkill. I thought after the way Smoak finished Spring Training that he was certain to start at 1B. Might as well drop Smoak entirely at this point, since Valencia will play 1B against lefties and Gibby prefers Navarro's fat ass against righties so much that he's willing to hurt the defense at the same time. Oh well. Enough negativity. Let's go Jays.
  11. Navarro starting at DH. Oh, goody. Then, when Martin needs a breather, Navarro and his s***** ass framing will be catching. All Dioner, all the time.
  12. Man, if Stro was healthy I would have been so pumped. I'm still pumped but not as optimistic about the win total this season. We are due for an overachieving type of season. Let's do it.
  13. Damn, it would have to be Goins, wouldn't it? Hmmm. Not sure who else the Jays could play there that wouldn't be terrible, at least internally.
  14. If you banged a chick frequently from 2005-08, and she was mediocre in bed to the point where you had to dump her, then why would you start doing her again in 2013 when the chick you were with left you for a better man? I hope that analogy works better than "he was a terrible on field manager in 2008 and no other team would touch him so why go back to him?". Gibbons will never get another MLB job as a manager. Never. Ever. On any team. A bench coach? Possibly, but that's it. He's not coveted. Go elsewhere. Anywhere else. Try something new. The Jays got burned by Farrell and went right back to the chick who is always free on Friday night's and doesn't require dinner/drinks/dancing to give it up. OK, I need to stop this analogy before I picture Gibbons in a dress.
  15. Wow that's a huge trade. If the Jays ever want to trade Reyes, I definitely think he's going to the Padres. That team is spending huge.
  16. I never said a manager matters. I just don't like John Gibbons and the organization's love affair with him.
  17. I'll make a win prediction and go one step further. Gibbons will be fired in May when the team is a few games under .500. DeMarlo Hale (or whoever the bench coach is) takes over. Jays finish the year with 89 wins and make the post-season after a huge 2nd half. I don't know if that's a prediction or me just wanting a different manager, but I'll roll with it. If I'm wrong, I'll just deny ever typing it.
  18. I'm going with Cleveland as well. They've developed some really good pitching.
  19. The Lind trade was fine. The only way it looks bad is if Navarro is DH. Smoak/Valencia for 2.6m should be good value.
  20. That dream was shattered months ago. If it hasn't happen by now, I can't see happening.
  21. Well, I thought it was clear that I wasn't being serious (hence why I exagerrated how many rookies were on the team) but I guess not.
  22. How embarrassing would it be if a Blue Jay did not win Rookie of the Year? They have like 10 rookies on the roster. Just by sheer quantity they have a better chance than any other team.
  23. He seemed decent in 2012 and 2013. What happened in 2014? As a depth starter, he's not bad.
