  1. I'm not watching another Jays game until Gibbons is fired.
  2. Farrell came from a player development background and was highly valued by an organization that values advanced metrics. He may suck as an in-game manager but I'd trust his ability to judge talent and put them in the right spots over Gibbons. It's not like Gibbons is making great decisions as manager either. I didn't want Farrell back, for the record. Just think he would have been better than Gibbons if he stayed.
  3. Being young doesn't mean a player will necessarily improve. Sanchez hasn't improved since 2010. If anything, he has probably regressed as he has gotten older and moved up levels. I think if you put him in the pen and let him throw mostly FB's for one inning, he will be better. As a starter, he doesn't have anywhere near the command of his pitches that he needs to sustain performance over 6-7 innings.
  4. Of course AA is more responsible. He put the roster together and hired Sling Blade to begin with. That doesn't mean Gibbons can't be called out for being terrible.
  5. Some of you have converted to anti-Gibbons and it is beautiful to see. The rest of you will join us in time. We deserve better than a manager that no other organization in baseball would ever hire. He is so in over his head, it's ridiculous. Farrell was better. At least his excuse was learning on the job and having a s***** roster with Jo Jo Reyes and Kyle Drabek in the rotation. Gibbons has been manager the only two times Rogers has spent any money on this team and they've underachieved or s*** the bed every time. Enough is enough.
  6. We probably shouldn't have, but yes. Estrada in the rotation, Sanchez in the pen, Guilmet/West in the pen instead of Castro/Osuna, and Navarro on another team would have made me more comfortable with exceeding expectations.
  7. Yep, this team is going nowhere with Alex. Time to pull the plug. They had a chance before Stroman's injury but they are f***ed now and Gibbons is a clown. They will hover around .500, like always.
  8. Great comparison. An older, more advanced prospect who had hit at every level he's played in versus two 20 year old's in A-ball who haven't thrown more than 80 innings in a season. Please. The only "rookies" who warranted a spot on the big league club out of spring training were Travis and possibly Norris, and that's only because Stroman was hurt. Otherwise, every single one of Norris, Pompey, Sanchez, Osuna, and Castro should have been in the minors to begin the year. And yes, I realize Pompey hasn't been bad, but he still could have used some development time. Pillar in CF would have been fine.
  9. They were not hard hit balls, and the team had a 5 run lead. Gibbons practically had Castro warming up when Hendriks gave up his first baserunner. It was embarrassing to watch. John Farrell is a better manager. Seriously. I'm not joking.
  10. Osuna didn't fail, Cecil didn't fail, and Hendriks didn't fail on Thursday. When you have a manager you removes relievers after they allow weak groundballs that happen to find holes, and then brings in someone who everyone except the manager knows isn't ready (Castro), it's hard to blame the relievers. Gibbons is straight up trash. Come on, it's not hard to see.
  11. Gibbons is trash. Always was. Always will be. Just have to hope Alex realizes that before it's too late.
  12. Didn't Saunders grade out the best defensively in RF for the Mariners? If it's a short-term thing, I don't see why not. The more puzzling part is why is Pompey playing LF when Pillar is elite there and Dalton is the long-term CF?
  13. Looks solid. Will look even better when Bautista replaces Pillar (or Pompey....whatever they decide to do with that situation).
  14. Where is the lineup posted? Hopefully Smoak is playing. Dude is on fire.
  15. Smoak has a .947 OPS, 8 walks, and 2 home runs in 27 AB. He's Navarro's back-up. That was insane then, and still insane now. Let fatso rot on the bench when he comes off the DL.
  16. It's not really Tolleson's fault. He's not an outfielder. You can't expect good defense in that situation. You just have to hope not a ton of balls are hit to him. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. 1-4 against the the Rays. Ugh. At least win the next two, guys.
  17. The Jays are due for a great pitching performance. Come on Hutch.
  18. This team is stupid as hell if they make Martin catch Dickey with Thole on the roster.
  19. Yeah don't wish any bad health to a player but this helps the team. Let Thole catch Dickey and let Smoak play 1B.
  20. Sanchez was getting screwed on a few borderline pitches but don't get it twisted, he still had no clue where the ball was going most of the night.
  21. Smoak brings so much more to this team than Navarro. Defense at 1B, power, and walks. Maybe he's earned some more playing time in Gibbons' eyes after tonight.
  22. A little late, but atta boy Smoak. Force Gibbons to stop playing Fat Catcher.
  23. Dioner will be back stealing AB's from better players in no time.
  24. With Jimenez and Sanchez throwing tonight, there's a pretty good chance someone gets hit, and it won't even be intentional.
  25. If Aaron Sanchez only had one good start in him before he drifts off into the bullpen, please let it be tomorrow night.
