The defense was horrendous tonight. Even Dickey would have ended up pitching decently if he had a defense behind him, never mind the pen.
I think a pen of Cecil, Osuna, Loup, Hendriks, and Delabar is fine. Just need Bautista back in RF, ASAP.
I want the Jays to start losing a lot. Seriously. I don't want them to tease me with a winning streak like they did in 2013 and 2014. This team is so flawed, it's sad.
Other than Hutchison and Buehrle, does any pitching actually project to improve as the season goes on? Dickey can't fool batters anymore, Estrada is a swing man/#5 starter, and Sanchez is Drabek with groundballs.
It's only encouraging if you figure they'll correct to their normal talent level soon. With this rotation, I'm not sure that's possible, though great start from Hutchster.
Harry and Lloyd (or Alex and Gibby, whichever you prefer) are on the hot seat. They'll ride these guys for as long as they can. That's why both should have either been fired or extended prior to the season.
Bautista DH'ing the past month was terrible. yes, he hit well, but he f***ed the defense up and isn't going to get healthier by continuing to play through injury.
He's probably making a ton of money. I wouldn't want to leave or find someone to replace me if I were him, either.
If the Jays remain status quo after a season like this, they deserve everything they get.
I doubt he'll even be allowed to trade them, which is a good thing. I mean, he did make some good trades in the off-season, so he probably wouldn't get ripped off if he traded them, but still would rather have the new GM be the one who handles that.
Sanchez is basically Kyle Drabek with better GB rates right now. Don't let the ERA mask the numbers. He could improve over time, but he still has a ways to go.
Carrasco credits Cash for his turnaround, and it's been reported that Cash was behind Cleveland acquiring Gomes.
Or were you laughing because you read one of your own posts, and quoted mine by accident?
