  1. Nicely done Jose. Sprint to home instead of back to 3rd.
  2. Jays only losing a game in the standings during a weekend at the Trop? I'll take it.
  3. He went 1-3 with a walk. That s*** will keep happening now. I hope you're happy. By the way, I officially hate this trade now. Kratz should have been the back-up catcher in September. Or AJ Jimenez.
  4. Biagini gives up his first HR in this hellhole, Benoit might as well give up his first earned run as a Jay. I would have kept Feldman in there.
  5. Any chance Sling Blade keeps Feldman in the game, or will Benoit be coming in since he owns the 7th inning role?
  6. Travis batting 9th and Navarro batting 4th is hysterical. At least it worked out today with Fatty getting an RBI and Travis up to bat in a key spot to tie it.
  7. Time to give the lead back. If anyone wants to know what hell looks like, it's the Trop.
  8. That deserves at least another 2 weeks at DH and clean up.
  9. I can't wait until the Boston series when Navarro plays all 3 games and bats clean-up in at least two of them. "He is 1-2 in his career against Pitcher X, so why not?"
  10. This thread being bumped up is a thing of beauty. Why Atkins hasn't stepped in and stopped this ******** is insane. The Jays are tied for first and they are letting this stupid Redneck cost the team runs on a daily basis.
  11. The Rays could field their AAA lineup and still win 2/3 if the games happened at the dump of a stadium.
  12. If either one accepts a two year deal, even at a higher salary, I think Shapiro will go for it. The years are more important than the $.
  13. If the Jays and Rays game is played in an empty Trop, would anyone notice the difference? I'm only half joking.
  14. Bautista helped the front office by being a douche in the spring so fans (meaning the casuals) are probably fine with him leaving. It's Edwin that fans will cry about. I actually think Bautista might come back for reasons already mentioned. Apparently Jays are open to a Cespedes type of contract, so if they give JB a high AAV over two years with maybe an option, he might take it given the year he has had.
  15. Good: Happ, Estrada, Biagini, Barney, Grilli, Upton (Jays paying a reasonable $) Bad: Chavez, Storen, Smoak extension, Morales Wait and see: Liriano Neither good or bad: Feldman, Benoit, Navarro This front office knew where the Jays sat on the win curve and made short term incremental improvements that have made a difference without harming the farm system. Hell, they made the team better this season while actually improving the farm simultaneously (Ramirez and McGuire). Regimes will always have a few s***** moves here and there but as long as the good outweighs the bad and the overall philosophy is right, then no complaints. The Jays are in good hands.
  16. If Sanchez does not start in the playoffs (which I can only assume is because he's either moved to the pen or shut down/hurt), then it's between Liriano and Dickey for the last rotation spot in the playoffs. Sad but they might need Thole if Dickey has to start (hope not).
  17. Papa Buehrle is one guy from last year's team that I'd love to have back in some capacity. Miss that guy.
  18. I wish Atkins found a back up catcher that Gibbons did not have a hard on for. Fatty is going to hurt the team down the stretch if he plays too much.
  19. This is Sanchez's last start and he's moving to the pen after this. That's the only reason I can thing of letting him pitch 6 tonight.
  20. This s*** is f***ing irresponsible by Gibbons. I hope he gets called out by the front office.
  21. Would it look bad if a manager of a first place team were fired on September 1? Take the PR hit, Shapkins. It will be worth it.
  22. If Sanchez can get by this inning, I hope he pitches into the 7th as well. Just for comedy.
  23. He's at 86 pitches. Not quite 100 yet. I could see the Hick bringing him back out and then replacing him after one batter, like he does for everyone else.
  24. Sanchez in line for the win if the lead holds up. There, you happy Gibbons? Now you can take him out.
  25. Getting Sanchez a win is more important than winning a baseball game, apparently. Ray Charles could see he doesn't have it tonight.
