    Lol I know I was being sarcastic. Every off season Pillar is supposed to change his approach but he’s the same old s***** hitter every year. At least he brings value in other areas.

    Wasn’t Pillar supposed to be more selective this season? Second straight game where he got to a 3 ball count and swung at ball 4. It’s almost like he is what he is and will never change.

    The offence is definitely going to be an issue all season, especially if JD's shoulder is f***ed up. Nothing Gibby can do about that except play the guys he has. It's not going to be pretty most nights if JD is not MVP form.

    Gibby 1.0 tonight. Sanchez should not have faced Drury, nevermind the batter after him. Horrible Gibby. Edit: and not even a lefty to face Gardner? Why not bring Barnes in two batters earlier then? I'm lost.

    Yeah that's probably it. But seeing all those Doc highlights where I saw more blue seats than actual people was depressing, and if the team this year doesn't look like a contender it will probably resemble that time period. Bandwagon fans are the worst.

    Just got home and my main observation is, damn the Dome looks empty and lifeless. 2015-16 made me forget how s***** the Toronto fanbase was in 1994-2014 (not entirely their fault) but didn't expect interest to torpedo this quickly. Friday night against the Yankees seems like it should have been a pretty decent crowd.

    Happ was fine yesterday. Bad break with the Grandy error in the 1st inning, but he did about as well as could have been expected against that lineup. Sanchez and Stroman might have better luck against them with their GB tendencies. Estrada is probably going to get lit up like a Christmas tree against them.

    Where is Warmoth starting? If it's Dunedin, then he may not be that far off either. He's already 22 and is supposed to be advanced. Not a 2018 candidate obviously, but 2019-20. Not sure if Gurriel can handle SS, and Diaz probably isn't one either (he needs to hit to have any value). Urena doesn't look all that appealing to me. Good D but I don't like the bat. Ehh. Bo and Warmoth might be the only ones I'd trust in the system to handle SS long term unless I'm forgetting someone.

    JD playing 3b when he couldn't even throw is either irresponsible of the team (if they knew) or JD (if he didn't disclose it). JUst put him on the DL. If the team starts poorly because of it then so be it. Better he get healthy than get hurt worse than he already is.

    I kinda want Tulo around to mentor Bo, but man the Jays are getting a horrible deal. 0 WAR in 2017, injured in 2018 (who knows how many games he actually plays given his injury), and two more years after this as he inches closer to 35.

    Gift is on the 40 man roster and Espinosa has accepted an assignment in Buffalo so they didn't have to clear any further 40 man roster spots and keep the same depth. That's really all I can think of. Wouldn't shock me if Epinosa replaces Gift on the roster soon enough if/when Gift sucks.

    Gibby said he wouldn't be playing much short, but hell, if he's as good defensively there as Diaz, then might as well try it (if Diaz doesn't bounce back).

    If Diaz sucks again, especially on defence, then Gift will play a lot. Epinosa probably sucks now too but at least he has a track record of actually being productive.
