    Yeah you could tell Maile didn't even know how to answer that question. It's like they expected him to say "yeah I know I suck, but I'm glad Gibby showed faith in me anyway". Still better than Barry Davis, though. All Maile has to do is be replacement level. If he can do that, then it's like a one win improvement over the team's back ups the last two years.

    Well, Herrera is actually good so not much you can do there. Grandy had a nice cut but just went foul. Damn please don’t lose to this s***** team.

    Tempura is good now but for some reason I still don’t trust him as the 8th inning guy. Giving up a dinger to Escobar doesn’t help.

    I’d rather have Barney on a minor league deal than Gift. I won’t say Goins because I never want to see him hit for the Jays again, but Goins is prime Jeter compared to Gift. Seriously, Gift is bad. Like, really bad. His minor league numbers are horrendous and he has no positive qualities at the plate. Espinosa might suck but he might fluke into a HR every now and then. If Gift makes contact it’s an accomplishment. It’s just annoying because Gift is going to start every 3rd day until JD gets back. Brutal watching this guy at the plate.

    Gift is straight up the worst player I have seen on the Jays. Can’t think of a worse hitter. As much as I love Shatkins, no idea why they kept him over Epinosa.

    The Royals know how to play real baseball. Singles after singles, and then pitch to contact knowing the hard hit balls will go right at their defenders. Awesome. (I'm still salty we lost to these bastards in the ALCS).

    I know it's a make up game, but I think I've seen more people at a Starbucks at 2 pm than in the stands at RC right now.

    True but at least Travis has upside/a track record. Gift is what he is.

    Man they had three days off. Put Martin at 3B in the night cap. He’s rested enough. Yes when I said I never want to see Gift with a bat in his hands ever again, I meant it.

    There are so many bad teams in baseball this season. Like, an abnormal amount of bad teams. In the AL alone you have Baltimore, Tampa, Detroit, Chicago, KC, Oakland, and Texas. Half the damn AL is going to suck. Not very fun. The Twins will make the playoffs despite being mediocre as hell most likely.

    If Manfred wants to attract the young'ins, then yeah, Bryce is the guy. Flips bats, amazing hitter, and doesn't give a damn. He's the guy.

    Yeah the Jays caught a break. Double headers sucks but they need as many games with JD as possible.

    Man the Royals are straight trash. Their lineup is basically Moose and a bunch of s***.

    I mean it is what it is. Angels have had a soft schedule (nothing but A’s, Rangers, and Royals who are all ass) but they are winning at a high clip. They look real good. Twins will have the cupcake schedule. Jays can’t do anything except play the hand they are dealt. The Yankees never finished .500 or below during their transition years. Always over .500. Looks like Shapiro wants to aim for that.

    Indians had the top of their lineup up. No way I'd use Loup or Axford in that situation. Might as well use Osuna here (or keep Tepera in since he only threw 9 pitches). Facing Kluber tomorrow we needed this one.

    Travis has been hot garbage, but I never want to see Gift swing a bat ever again. Call up Epinosa or Gurriel, don't care which one, just no more Gift starts.

    Hernandez is going to win his spot back. Gibby loves him and Grichuk has been trash. Only a matter of time.
