  1. Don't know if JD would take the QO, but signing him to an expensive one year deal with some s***** options like we did Bautista is probably realistic if he doesn't go h.a.m. in August and September.
  2. Wait, we were going to get Flaherty for Donaldson? The Cardinals GM went out of his way to say he did not want to trade six years of value for a rental. I highly doubt that was happening. We probably could have gotten what the Marlins got for Ozuna, which frankly wasn't great, but Ozuna came with an extra year so who knows.
  3. Grichuk is going to have at least one 3 WAR season in toronto. Of course i predicted that in 2018 but still have two years to be right.
  4. Grandy is the perfect platoon DH at this point in his career. Kills righties and is a good dude on top of that.
  5. Nice outing from Happ against an amazing lineup. I'm assuming he's done, but after his last start, you never know.
  6. Hope Happ can have a good start tonight. I know it's only one game, but a good start against the Stros will look good on the 2018 resume when it comes to a trade.
  7. There are some teams that are trying to break some playoff droughts (Seattle, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Angels) and then a team like the Nats who will lose Harper in the winter and may want to see if they can win with him before he leaves. I'm sure the big 4 in the AL will look for upgrades as well. There should be a decent amount of buyers. Whether we get anything good is another story, but hopefully between Happ, Estrada, Grandy, Pearce, and a reliever or two, we can add some good depth to the system.
  8. Osuna seems like the type who was too young for all the fame. He came in at age 20, was great right away, and due to the playoff appearances got a lot of visibility in Toronto (hence the females). Then tack on the $5m in salary this year. It's a shame too because he wasn't showing any signs of letting up, which is rare for a young reliever. Those guys have short shelf lives but he was on year 4 of being dominating.
  9. Kendrys up to a 0.0 WAR and 97 wRC+ now. He ranks 7th in mlb in exit velocity (ahead of Trout, Stanton, Davis, etc) so old man still hits the ball hard. Maybe the glasses were holding him back.
  10. Pearce wants to be traded.
  11. Trade for Santana, trade Pillar, move Grichuk to cf.
  12. Nah we are out of it. Estrada had a good start, Pearce had three hits, and we are still about to lose. Jays are too big in a hole with way too many games left against Boston and NY to think they have a chance.
  13. Acetrada pumping up that trade value. Another good couple of starts and the Jays might have the two most desirable sp trade chips.
  14. Keep him and trade him next July. No one will remember or care about his s*** in a year (unless he did something really bad).
  15. IFA, the draft, and the farm system in general. Even the very few prospects they have traded have been nothing special (Woodman, Olivares, Greene) and they could probably flip the players they got in those deals for better prospects down the road. By 2020 the big league roster and the farm system will both be fap worthy.
  16. Until I see Donaldson back on the field and playing at a high level, I'm convinced he's here the rest of the year and will either accept the QO or leave for a comp pick. If he comes back and hits, then there's a chance he can be moved at the deadline or in August/waivers.
  17. Well if the Jays don't have a miracle run in them, then I hope the Angels catch them. The fact that Trout could walk down the street in any city and probably not get noticed by more than half the people in the area is sad. Dude will go down as one of the greatest ever. Give him some shine.
  18. Didn't Alonso get something like 2/16 as a free agent? He was another "came out of no where" first basemen who had a breakout year at age 30. I don't think we would have gotten much for Smoak tbh.
  19. Is it too early to fap to this farm system? Man, in a year or two, even with graduations for Vlad and Bo, we'll be in good shape.
  20. Conine 0-3 with a walk (1 k) today.
  21. Agreed. Gibby has been pretty good about pitch counts, but for some reason he deviated from that today and it almost cost them. Maybe trying to pump up the trade value. I'm going to miss Happ. Bring him back next year after robbing someone in a trade.
  22. Damn a complete game win would have look good for Happ. Tepera better not let these inherited runners score. Keep dat ERA low.
  23. Zeuch's profile screams "bottom of the rotation innings eater". I'd be fine with that outcome. Would like to see more K's though.
  24. He inherited a gold mine and doesnt have to work for Rogers anymore. If that doesn't motivate someone in this field, nothing will.
  25. Yes, please sell high on Tempura. 30 year old reliever doing well but not really established. Sell high and get a damn good return due to years of control.
