No kidding. If Reyes spends any time on the DL whether it's 15 or longer, and this team does not sign Drew, I will just watch every game and laugh. Like every year, I just will not take these guys seriously and I won't lose sleep over it. How can anyone, ANYONE say this team can compete in this division with a DP combo of Iztris/Kawasaki - Goins?

So then this should be a slam dunk signing for the Jays, one would think. Like as quick as the Braves and Santana hooked up.

Is Drew/Boras still on the long-term deal bandwagon or is there interest in a 1 year deal? Reyes will likely be back at some point during the season (FFS that sounds awful), so would Drew be okay with moving to 2B? Seems unrealistic if you ask me, given the other issues such as Beeston/Boras...

Reyes Cabrera Bautista Encarnacion Lind Lawrie Rasmus Drew (most fans' fantasy - not happening) Navarro Bench Gose Thole Sierra Izturis (Yes, the bench does look crusty) Dickey Jimenez Buehrle Morrow Capuano Janssen Santos/Delabar (one traded) Cecil McGowan Loup Wagner Redmond/Hutchison (Hutch probably to AAA) Nice.

I get this feeling too. Though a part of me would be shocked if Toronto doesn't land at least 1 of the remaining pitchers who have been talked about ad nauseum, it's hard not to be cynical regarding this organization. Put me in the group who'd be happy if Toronto landed 1 of Jimenez/Santana/Burnett and Drew for 2B. That would at least be something and would give hope for 2014.

I like the idea from a Toronto fan's perspective but you'd have to wonder if an oft-injured center fielder would want to revive his ML career on SkyDome turf.
