  1. Huge blow for the Nats--Trea Turner to the DL:
  2. Austin Pruitt imploding after Cobb left--7-1 Yankees. Guess reality is setting in and the status quo is starting to return.. wonder if this'll mean the Jays will start turning their record around?
  3. Just to update, the Mets offense is dead last in AVG, OBP and OPS.. and Jose Reyes looks done...
  4. While the Mets are winning--the offense is extremely bad. Before tonight's game, they actually rank below Toronto..
  5. Hoo, boy.. blowing a winnable game, being up 9-3 in the 9th, and serving up 7 runs to lose the game, with Casey Fien and Edwin Diaz combining to lose the game..
  6. And if you think the Jays have bullpen issues--try being a Nats fan! Koda Glover and Blake Treinen have been awful.. actually, the entire Nats pen is a tire fire right now outside of Joe Blanton. It's no surprise the Nats are just a .500 team right now.. should've spent on a closer. Worse bullpens than Toronto: Kansas City Washington Detroit San Francisco St. Louis
  7. Matt Strahm walks in the winning run.. Astros win, and are 4-3.. Lots of abnormalities in the standings right now--non-contending teams like the D-Backs, Twins, Angels, and Rays lead their divisions, while the real contenders are struggling, including the Jays..
  8. Finally, the O's are getting a reality check.. O'Day imploding, Baltimore down 7-3.. looks like they'll be no undefeated teams after today.
  9. Worst start since '04 as it looks like.. of course, it's not just us--the "rebuilding" and supposed contending Yankees are also in danger of dropping to 1-5 as well.. facing the same teams as the Jays. We really need to get home ASAP and get Osuna back... It's strange the O's are going to be 5-0 and the Rays 5-2... of course, since it's early in the season, it's questionable whether this lasts. These Rays head to NY next, BTW.
  10. Wade Miley no-hitting thru 4--but not the good way, as he's walked 6...
  11. So sick of that Space Jam song we've heard a lot this weekend--it means Souza the Jays killer is up...
  12. JP Howell to the 10-day DL--turns out his performance Friday was because he was hiding a shoulder injury. Domonic Leone is back with the ballclub, and likely to stay for a while even with Osuna back Tuesday, as Lawrence likely returns to Buffalo.
  13. More the offense than anything. The only real issue with the pen right now is LH relief--neither Howell or Loup have pitched well so far. But yes we do need Osuna back ASAP..
  14. Yes, it's a small sample size--but the D-Backs are doing a good job playing against a potential WOrld Series contender in Cleveland.. plus, Arizona has quite a bit of young talent, along with Goldschmidt. BTW, the GIants are starting very poorly.. can't even beat San Diego, with the problems with pitching from last season continuing.. and none of their LF can hit..
  15. 1-4 for the 1st time since 2004.. but that team was MUCH worse than the 2017 one. The 2004 team was absolutely plagued with injuries, poor starting pitching, and a bullpen that makes the current one look really good.. the current slump will reverse once the bats show and/or we start playing lesser competition..
  16. Break up the D-Backs! THey're beating Cleveland again.. and Edwin's batting .158 right now.. maybe Arizona is winning because they actually have a competent manager now in Louvollo, who really should be managing the Red Sox right now instead of Farrell...
  17. Look, most teams would've walked both Dickerson and KK with Mallex on 3rd.. any sac fly or contact would win it for the Rays.. they had to try to get a double play. There's not much you can do.. and the Jays just didn't really have much available. On the other side, Rays are going to have some unavailability issues tomorrow--Colome and Cedeno are unavailable tomorrow, and Farquhar may not be available either due to throwing 30+ pitches on Friday.. and Odorizzi didn't pitch well in his last start.
  18. Then lost 4 in a row to the Rays and Red Sox.. at this point, I really wish we'd get home soon.. why the hell did the sked makers have to send us to the Trop this early in the season?
  19. Exactly--we were 2-4 in our first 6 games, and we ended up making the playoffs. At least we haven't been hit by any serious injuries or illness.. Red Sox are missing a lot of pieces due to the flu/bereavement, and the Yanks just lost Gary Sanchez for a while..
  20. Yankees and Red Sox fans are probably in the same boat.. Rays 4-2 and O's 4-0 while the Sox are struggling at .500 and the Yanks and Jays are both tied for 4th.. pretty messed up start to the season.
  21. We didn't have anybody left! What else could we do?
  22. Erasmo Ramirez in: Rays pen remaining: Jumbo Diaz Austin Pruitt? (questionable--threw 25 pitches last night) Farquhar N/A due to back-to-back appearances Jays pen remaining: Jason Grilli Casey Lawrence JP Howell
  23. Now Martin walks.. he's not hitting, but he's getting on base!
  24. Sorry, made a error--Rays bullpen has no options outside of Pruitt.. probably explains why we haven't seen Erasmo Ramirez in this series..
