  1. Brandon Belt FINALLY breaks the tie! 2-1 Giants.
  2. Of course, if this game goes any longer, we might see starters pitching.. which could affect rotations in Games 3 and 4.
  3. We have now tied the MLB record for longest postseason game by innings, and have broken the time record.
  4. This is going to affect both teams when the series returns to SF on Monday.. both bullpens are going to be gassed. Lucky they have good starters..
  5. Yes, I remember that too... Roger Clemens pitched that game in the very late innings, and Chris Burke hit a walkoff to send the Astros to the NLCS vs. the Cardinals (the Astros eventually lost in the World Series to the White Sox, in one of their very few World Series appearances.)
  6. I believe this is now the longest playoff game in MLB history by time.
  7. 2 more innings and we tie the record (2005 NLDS, Atlanta/Houston, 18 innings)
  8. Calm down Vasgersian! The ball's not carrying.. all these balls are doing are hitting gloves and dragging this game out longer and longer...
  9. Extras again! And with the bullpen depth of both teams, we could be here all night..
  10. It'll be interesting when the series shifts to SF on Monday.
  11. Matt Williams is almost as bad as Ausmus with his pitchers.. Storen blows a save, and now we have a brand new ballgame!
  12. Oh boy, Matt Williams is going to get grilled for yanking Zimmermann... Sandoval just hit a 1 or 2 run double (pending replay)
  13. What JFaS meant was that Kelly isn't that great, and may end up a bullpen arm, which is what the Cards thought of him (he was a long-man for a while). Kelly continues to have control issues in Boston, like he did in St. Louis.
  14. Former Yankees OF prospect Jose Tabata has been DFAd by the Pirates. Wonder if the Jays should take a flyer on him?
  15. Buehrle, Dickey, Happ, Stroman, Hutchison, Sanchez, Norris? That's a fair amount of depth.
  16. The problem is that Allen Craig suffered a Lisfranc injury and foot injuries late last season, and has not been the same player. There's no guarantee of a rebound.
  17. Smyly maybe, Craig and Kelly no. That Craig part of the Lackey deal is going to be a drag on Boston.. he has shown no signs of returning to previous form. And Kelly's still a wild card.
  18. Not sure about SP though considering the depth.. but the rest I agree with.
  19. No surprises. Luckily, several of them (Rasmus, Santos, Delabar) will be non-tendered and head into free agency this offseason.
  20. True. But remember, we also have Maicer Izturis returning as well.
  21. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/10/blue-jays-outright-munenori-kawasaki-dan-johnson.html No surprise.. we need a REAL 2B. Munenori Kawasaki is minor league depth and nothing more. And Dan Johnson is AAAA.
  22. Yes. If you look at advanced metrics, the O's rotation has serious regression coming when their defense regresses because of the losses of Markakis and Hardy.
  23. Pretty much. But how's Showalter going to manage when the O's roster is partially torn down next year due to financial constraints? Unless the O's want to raise their payroll to $140-150M or so, they're not going to be able to keep this core together.
