About A+/AA. Japan has the best foreign prospects(outside of Cuba and the Dominican), as their league is AAA level.

Lind for Estrada.. yes, it's a bad trade.. but only if he's used as a starter. Although even as a reliever, AA may have been gipped on that trade.. hopefully, if he trades Happ, he'll get better and more assets than he got for Lind. However, despite Lind's strong numbers, he did that all against RHP. Brewers are desperate for a 1B.. neither Reynolds or Overbay cut it. And Lind may be platooned in Milwaukee as well with someone such as Jason Rogers. -

And we all know about the Comcast Sportsnet Houston bankruptcy (they're being turned into a ROOT Sports), and that MASN deal is still waiting to be resolved.. and the O's are really hoping it favors them. As for Sportsnet LA, Dodgers already are rumored to be cutting payroll in order to cover losses, and there's still a risk Sportsnet LA may face the same fate as Comcast Sportsnet Houston if things don't improve over the offseason.

MLB may not have a choice... they cannot continue to let the Rays rot in St. Pete with attendance expected to continue to decline to the point that the franchise can't operate. And all that talk about new TV money in 2016 shouldn't be taken with a grain of salt.. without a competing bidder for their TV rights(basically, it's Sun Sports likely bidding against themselves), they will not get an improvement in their TV money, along with the risk the cable rights bubble bursts (see Dodgers, Astros, Padres, where they are losing big with their new TV deals). Plus, 29 other owners are getting tired of giving the Rays money and yet the Rays have made no progress on increasing attendance or getting a new stadium.

This accident brings back bad memories of Josh Hancock and Nick Adenhart, who were also killed in car accidents.. and Cardinals fans have also seen Daryl Kile pass (heart attack), along with Hancock. Condolences to the Taveras family, the Cardinals organization.. it's awful to see this happen.

Terrible news to hear, especially for the Cardinals organization, who was expecting him to be the everyday RF next year. Now they'll have to seek an OF in free agency or give Grichuk or Piscotty the job.. he was a #1 prospect for the Cardinals. This is awful news for the Cardinals organization, especially when he was expected to be a major piece of the team in 2015.

Not a safe area to place an MLB team.

-San Antonio is out of the question due to the Astros and Rangers territorial rights, plus the fact San Antonio would need a dome (it's WAY too hot there). -San Jose is Giants territory... and more the A's issue than the Rays. -North Carolina is out of the question. O's and Nats have territorial exclusivity with that region with MLB and would sue if they put a team there. -New Orleans is a MILB market, and Portland can't even support a AAA team, and doesn't have a ballpark. -Vancouver needs a stadium.. they can't use BC Place because of the renos in recent years for the Whitecaps and Lions. -Las Vegas is a AAA market. -Brooklyn is Yankees and Mets territory. Forget it! Basically, it's either a new stadium in Tampa or relocation to Montreal.

At least Olympic Stadium didn't have embarrassing rules regarding catwalks like the Trop does. And have you even been in the Trop? A lot of people hate that stadium.

No chance. And the Yankees would also block a move to Brooklyn as well, because it would risk damaging their franchise value.

In addition, back in the 90s, there was no revenue sharing to help the Expos. Today, they wouldn't have this issue.

Blame that on Cleveland's depressed economy and more interest in the NBA (because of LeBron James) and the NFL (Johnny Manziel). Plus, the fans in Cleveland have less trust in their ownership than the Jays fans have with Rogers. In addition, fans weren't impressed that the team failed to make it to the ALDS. Otherwise, it's a bit of a mystery why the Indians can't draw.. I blame it on their ownership.

Plus, it'll benefit the Jays by giving us a natural rival and boosting attendance with the rivalry matchups. You can imagine this is being considered.. And I can imagine the 29 other owners are going to be pushing for the Rays to be relocated if plans for a new stadium aren't made between this winter and next offseason, possibly as early as the winter meetings. No way the MLB will let the Rays continue to play at Tropicana Field if they won't draw, and have no hope of drawing fans.

Not a bad landing spot. That team looks poised to emerge in 2015, with a few additions in pitching, and the rise of prospects Addison Russell, Javier Baez, Jorge Soler and Kris Bryant.

Guess he's leaving the sinking ship that is Tampa Bay, with ownership looking set to blow up the team with no new stadium on the horizon and declining attendance, making it meaningless to even put a decent team on the field or spend money. Wonder what Shea Hillenbrand would say about this?

Might as well trade him for pitching and put Mookie Betts in the OF.. Mookie needs to be in the lineup.

Baseball-Reference says Wieters had a WAR of 0.5 in 2013. Somebody there screwed up.. Fangraphs has 2.5 WAR for him.

Wieters won't get that high.. in 2013, he was barely replacement level (0.5 WAR), due to a decline in his defense. He hasn't been close to 4.0 WAR since 2011. And there's also questions how his throwing will be affected post TJS. Gausman's either in the pen or AAA.. unless they move/non-tender a starter in the offseason. Especially considering how much Jimenez is owed. Considering the high risk several of their starters regress (everyone except Gausman pitched well above their peripherals), they would be advised to trade a starter for some help, as it is unlikely Markakis or Cruz will return, as they will likely command money the O's can't offer due payroll concerns with all the arb raises.) And without Cruz, they still would have won the division. Unfortunately, it is unlikely the O's will be able to retain him, considering teams like the Yankees, Tigers, Rangers, Mariners, etc. will give him more money.
