  1. Nick Martinez sucks against a good team.. looks like it's going to be a LONG night for the Rangers.
  2. Hope so.. I've met him before when he was with the Erie Otters when they played in the final with Oshawa (met his brother Ryan as well.)
  3. Horrible move by Odor there. Go to 1st, you idiot!
  4. At least we've got 4 runs on the board already. Texas's pitching has really been awful lately.. especially during the A's series.
  5. How did Nick Martinez pitch so well so far this season?
  6. Perhaps because Smoak is batting .217/.280/.478 in June? Plus, with Collabello and Valencia outplaying him, and Carrera being at least a decent option in LF, Smoak doesn't deserve to play every day.
  7. None of those 3 belong on a 40 man roster. And Matt West hasn't stuck with the Dodgers, Preston Guilmet has been garbage in all his appearances with the Rays, and Ronald Torreyes will likely never make it to the majors. But yes, burning Miguel Castro's option was stupid.
  8. Yanks lose! Jays now 0.5 game out of a wild card. And with a favorable series vs. a sliding Rangers team, we could get it easily this weekend. Only the Yovani Gallardo game worries me.
  9. Get someone up in the pen Hinch! Yanks have the tying run coming to the plate.
  10. Marc Krauss traded to Tampa for Kyle Winkler. Comparably as bad as us letting Matt West go? Winkler has a 1.46 ERA in AA/AAA with good strikeout numbers. Guess Tampa is desperate for bench bats, especially with Nick Franklin, who was optioned to AAA, absolutely stinking up the Rays bench.
  11. Rangers lose (thanks A's!). 5 losses in a row, and heading to Toronto to face the league's best offense. Could be a really ugly weekend for the Rangers. Speaking of the A's... they've really come back. 9-2 in their last 11 games. They're a team to keep an eye on. If they get their bullpen straightened out, that team could come back and give Houston or the wild card contenders a scare. Yanks and Twins, along with the Jays and O's better watch their backs..
  12. Kratz has been DFAd 2 times this season by the KC Royals and Boston Red Sox. He's not better than Navarro. There's a reason nobody wants him. Don't be surprised if he ends up clearing waivers and going to Pawtucket.
  13. Nope. Just flu-like symptoms. Bryant isn't going anywhere.
  14. Go ahead. It's just that I heard Matt Boyd was pushed back till Saturday, lining him up for a likely spot starter on Saturday, as Estrada needs an extra day after all those pitches. If it is him, I'll be there. I have tickets for Saturday.
  15. Boyd scratched from AAA start. Could the Jays be calling him up over Doubront and Norris?
  16. Cardinals have officially won the trade with Boston for Lackey. Kelly optioned to AAA Pawtucket. Former Jay Erik Kratz also DFAd: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/06/red-sox-option-joe-kelly-designate-erik-kratz.html
  17. Rangers pitching is crashing back to earth in the Oakland series. Makes you wonder what'll happen in the Jays series..
  18. No, but he may well be soon if Boston doesn't show any improvement between now and the All-Star break. He's the only player that would get anything decent in a trade for Boston.
  19. Yep. Betances hasn't had consistent work in a while because of the Yankees being too far ahead or behind, leading to some rust.. plus he was due for regression sooner or later, especially when Girardi uses him for more than 3 outs to try to get a save. All the Jays need to do is WIN tomorrow...
  20. Twins lose. Jays STILL 1 game back.
  21. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/saunders-injured-knee-definitely-getting-better/ Doubront being considered for callup, and if he does well as the 5th starter, Sanchez could be moved to the pen. Still need to acquire an arm, though..
  22. Not anymore. Yanks are blowing another game vs. Philly. Twins are tied.
  23. Rusney Castillo experiment has ended in Boston. Erik Kratz, the great pitch framer, replaces him on the roster along with Justin Masterson(albeit temporarily until Swihart is 100%). $72M down the drain so far..
  24. d'Arnaud back on DL again(left elbow injury), Johnny Monell recalled. Sooner or later, the Mets are going to give up on him and give Plawecki the job full time if he can't stay healthy for a full season.. now that the Jays have Martin, the d'Arnaud trade doesn't sting as much.. but still giving up Syndergaard hurts (providing the Mets don't trade him for a big bat like Tulowitzki or Carlos Gomez or something like that).
  25. I mean, do you ever see anyone on the Rays boards? They're frequently empty with few posts. Yet here, we get tons of posts. Same with the O's and Yanks and Red Sox. As for the Rays, if we actually saw their finances, they're likely losing boatloads of money right now, even with revenue sharing and a TV deal.
