  1. Maybe Texas can take care of that this week.. And Tampa fans are probably already not only fretting of the Yankees, Orioles and Jays catching them(everyone's only 1 game back of them, and the Orioles will tie them for 1st at the end of tonight), but every loss increases the chance Rays ownership blows up their roster(including trading Longoria) due to the franchise's financial and attendance issues and risk of being relocated due to the stadium being basically unsuitable for baseball.
  2. Unfortunately, the offense has disappointed, the defense (especially in the OF) is awful, and they lack a decent 5th starter. Especially the D.. put these pitchers on the Jays and they likely are near double-digits in wins by now. Most of Cleveland's problem is their terrible defense.. and they haven't scored either. Most of the real issues is with poor spending of their money.. blowing dollars on Nick Swisher and Michael Bourn is coming back to haunt them. Neither of them should be near the big league roster at this point.
  3. Rays are due for a plunge in the standings for multiple reasons: 1. Not enough hitting (11th in OPS, 13th in runs scored 2. Overworked bullpen (261 IP, most in AL) 3. Haven't faced contending teams or the AL East. They've lost 4 of their 6 vs. the AL East, and have a potential season-deciding road trip with the Yanks and Royals next weekend. Plus, there's no guarantee what they'll get from Matt Moore. Not exactly much room for error here.
  4. Adam Lind just homered for the Brewers.
  5. Ask the Rays, who watched Chris Archer get beat by the Sox, in a game they needed. With nothing but contenders thru to the All-Star break for the Rays, they could be out of contention by then if they don't hit. Pretty much it's a three team race between the Jays, Yankees and O's.
  6. Why Reyes why? Martin(Leonys) has a strong arm.
  7. This is about the time Chi Chi imploded vs. the A's. No surprise to see him struggling with the Jays right now. BTW, Red Sox still lead 4-0.. Jays win today and they're back to within 1 game.
  8. 50 wins for the Cards in 74 games. They're on a 109 win pace.. give them the NL Central already!
  9. With the Rays losing, does anyone think the clock is about to strike midnight on the Rays? I felt this would happen, because the Rays haven't played the AL East much.
  10. Minnesota down 10-4 BTW.
  11. Holt with the go-ahead run!
  12. Uhh.. 2 years too late.
  13. Position Player pitching alert! Adam Rosales now pitching for the Rangers..
  14. Because Porcello sucks.. Farrell kept him in too long (again.)
  15. Milwaukee slaughtering the Twins 10-1. A Jays win puts us in the wild card. Whoda thunk it?
  16. Porcello sucks.. why hasn't Farrell pulled him yet??
  17. Detweiler really is struggling.. didn't this guy use to be great in Washington?
  18. Galvis finally breaks up Scherzer's streak and no-no...
  19. Give a gold glove to Kevin Pillar already! Another amazing play!
  20. What a night for the Jays. But how about saving some runs for tomorrow? And how about taking some regulars out soon so we can be ready for tomorrow?
  21. Max Scherzer STILL hasn't allowed a hit yet in 14 innings straight...
  22. Completely stung there..not much you can do about that one.
  23. Then tell Cleveland and Houston to win tonight..
  24. Martinez needed a good outing.. the Rangers pen isn't in strong shape. Bass is questionable (threw 57 pitches Wednesday), Sam Freeman is not available. A bad outing could hurt them this weekend..
  25. BTW, Boston leads 2-0 on Tampa.
