  1. So i have been busy all week and just catching up. We are just picking our new 15 keepers? Then will do a normal draft later for the remainder?
  2. #1 Pick = Nikita Kucherov
  3. ok just finalizing my rankings and will start with my first pick soon, we are just posting them here correct?
  4. What about Saturday night? 10-12? Honestly with only 4 shouldn't take more than an hour.
  5. Heys, I am good to start drafting on Sunday. Just need a day or two to review the available player list and make my rankings. Busy with job interviews until tomorrow.
  6. I'm a diehard hockey fan and my normal league has collasped, would love to join as long as I can attend the online draft. Drafting is half the fun. If in I would expect to be indefinitely.
  7. This FO also seems very concerned about fan perception and ensuring they continue to sell 3 million tickets/year. They are not prepared to try to sell rebuilding to the fanbase, only retooling. Which I actually think is the right call for 2018 as our real exciting prospects aren't ready for the MLB next year. The hype train is building Vladdy Jr and Bo already but they wont help sell MLB tickets until they are actually in the MLB. I am not sure who they will target, but they have shown to be aggressive and will have the money. It sounds like they believe Estrada can bounce back and will be relatively cheap based on this years performance.
  8. Bottom line is Martin performed like a top 5 catcher in the league last year. Sure he had a bad game or stretch, so does everyone. Not sure what else you want? We went from the worst starting catcher in the league in JP to one of the best in Martin and lunatics still complain.
  9. Dickey says he lost 12 pounds of pure fat over the off season. Will be interesting to see who's strategy works best.
  10. Sanchez = competitively fat
  11. 50% of people who play sports of any kind get back stiffness. This is not thread worthy.
  12. I thought Bautista was refusing interviews until Sportsnet paid for Travis's suit?
  13. Saunder for Votto? Yes please.
  14. Hey Joey Bays, you seem to have no problem talking to media about your contract and negotiations so why not just set the record straight and tell us what your ask is? Maybe its only $149m over five years?
  15. Given what Bautista has said already in the media regarding his contract negotiations, he should be completely open instead of half open and tell us what his ask is. Not sure what the point is in him saying publicly that he wants to resign but wont negotiate is without telling us what his demands are. If they are reasonable than fan pressure will help his cause, otherwise its only reasonable to side with management because we can only assume his demands are unreasonable.
  16. Osuna, Sanchez, and Cecil plus Chavez/Hutch are the beginning of a good bullpen. But ideally the other guys listed above are all bumped down the depth chart.
  17. We can't eat that salary, more likely Dickey for Shields.
  18. When is Devon Travis expected back? I was browsing Fangraphs projections for next year and noticed he is only projected to have 175 PAs? They are also projecting that Ryan Goins leads the team, tied with Donaldson, for PAs. Yes Ryan Goins is going to bat more than Joey Batflip, Martin, Edwing, Tulo, Pillar, etc. If that's the case another bench INF is critical.
  19. Year 1 - $20 Year 2 - $35 Year 3 - $45 Total 3 @ $100 with Opt Out Years 4-7 - $30 Total 7 @ 220 That is a crap load of money. We would need to unload Ben Revere to free up money to find some RP, but would make us as much as a lock for the division as possible
  20. I agree with the last guy, please get rid of Pendleton. He is useless.
  21. If a player and his reps aren't dumb they'd always take the money upfront. They can invest the money earlier and increase their earnings. From a team perspective, there are really two competing aspects of this. From a financial perspective, back loading decreases the current value of the contract and makes it a better investment decision. For front loading you need available current budget room to make it work, but it could create a baseball asset in the future as the contract becomes cheaper and if the player maintains production.
  22. This would be nice, you can't argue with his results last year. Even if he gives up another 0.5 run a game he slots in nicely as the 3rd starter and still have money to pursue a Zimmerman/Shark level pitcher who can slot into the #2 spot.
  23. Agreed, non-tender and bring him back at league min. Saves over $1 mil.
